Week 7: ONE BUCK
After a two-week hiatus, one buck is back in full force. We had to wait until Dad was gone to do this one because of his hatred of glitter;)

Obeying the rules, I spent a whopping $1 for three vials of colored glitter and each Hevron little got a chance to blow colored glitter for the camera.

Week 6: ONE BUCK
A few days late and not even a dollar short. Anyone care to guess what this modern art actually is. Cost less than a buck - well sort of.

Week 5: ONE BUCK
I was going to do bubbles this week, but then someone gave me a better idea for that one.

Then I was going to do glitter but my glitter girls wanted to play next door.

I've been wanting to do a simple kids headpiece for a while so our youngest and I took a walk out back and picked some of her favorite weeds.

Weeds, two wires and 5 minutes later - I had it:) It's really amazing what you can do for one buck.

I knew I missed a week. Now I'm caught up:)
Week 2: ONE BUCK

Lesson I'm learning: $1 doesn't go very far so I'm really going to have to be creative.

This week I spent $1 on a bag of balloons.

I used them the usual way (with Hannah playing with them) but then I also place a busted blue balloon over my flash as a cheap alternative to a gel (I actually have a "real" set of gels, but if I was desperate, a busted balloon would totally work.)

You can see the blue on Hannah's face. Think the gel doesn't make a difference? Hannah's eyes are hazel, not blue and this photo isn't Photoshopped:)

Week 4: ONE BUCK
This week's project was a group project. The twins and I worked on a single newspaper to make this cool backdrop for less than ONE BUCK. I think it's pretty newsworthy (yeah, I totally went there...lol).

Week 3: ONE BUCK

A friend of mine recently posted on Facebook a photo of a cool DIY headboard she made with a $1 find from a yard sale.

Since I'm always on the lookout for ONE BUCK projects, I messaged her as to what the panel was made of. She explained it was a painted metal panel she had disassembled and made into a headboard.

And by the way, she had a panel left over sitting in her trash and I was welcome to it.

Not wanting to dumpster dive (well not yet anyway), I offered her ONE BUCK. (This made her project free BTW).

Staying within the ONE BUCK theme, I photographed it "as is" but I think I may repaint it and actually use it in the studio. It has a really cool design, even if I'm still not really sure of its intended purpose.

Only one willing model this week. I may have to resort to bribery in the coming weeks.

If anyone has an idea for a ONE BUCK project, feel free to comment.

Week 2: ONE BUCK
Wow, one buck doesn't go very far which is going to make the next 50 weeks pretty challenging.

I bought a bag of balloons for a buck. Photographed the kids playing in them but that was a little expected so I decided to see what would happened if I busted one and put it over the speedlite. Voila - cheap gel in a pinch. I'll never look at a balloon the same way again.

Stay tuned to see next week's project. It's gotta be ONE BUCK or less and I can't use any prop twice. No pressure:)

New Project: ONE BUCK
Trying to come up with a follow-up to the 52-week Gossamer Project wasn't easy. I tossed around several ideas but nothing really stuck.

I didn't want to spend a lot of money and I also wanted to really see what I could do creatively with what I did budget. One Buck was born:)

Each week, I am committed to using a single prop that cost me less than $1. I can't reuse a prop and I can't borrow props (that would be cheating). Bonus points for me for utilizing things for purposes other than they were intended.

This week, it's the sunflower. I wanted to lie them on the ground and then have the girls lie in them but then floating a few seemed like a lot more fun:)

I'm already on the hunt for next week and open to ideas. Let the hunt begin:)
