Great Place, The atmosphere is really nice. the food is simple. and the menu is a tasting menu. the 16 course meal you have to be there for it before 6 or 7 PM Although there were couple of items on the menu that just had a really odd taste, but at the end of the day everybody has a different taste. The vibe and the looks from other customers on other tables were kind of look that basically seemed in a way put out there to decide which level of society people belong or how much money do they have. I am from Chicago so I am not sure if that is just an LA thing at most of the fine dinning places out here or what. Some of the waiters where giving looks from what it seemed to be kind of looks to price and size up customers. ***Now the only thing that I totally didn't like at this place was. after we asked for the bill which was above and beyond $ 450.00 which was fine with me and my guests because we knew what to expect. we were just tired to add up numbers and do the math to put down the exact amount of 20% in tips however we just rounded it up and I believe it came out to any where between 16% or 18% in tips now as I am walking out of the door with my guests one of the waiters approaches me and indirectly asks me that I didn't put 20% tips by saying "was the food and the service tonight good sir or was there anything wrong because usually our customers put down 20% in tips". When I looked again on the exact amount of tips we have put down it was just a little under 20% not by much just in the 18% range. I wasn't sure what was going on and that was just kind of rude and uncomfortable to me and to the guests with me as well. So I said to him well no nothing was wrong everything was great the service and the food were great this is just what put down in tips. So with a huge fake smile mask he looks at me and says I am glad you guys had fun we hope to see you again. So in general we had fun at this place. but honestly I most likely won't go there again no matter how special the occasion is.

One of the best meals we had while in LA. Some of the dishes work and others didn't. Portion size needs attention, as we had a huge slab of red meat presented between delicate fish dishes. Still, worth a visit.

Eating at Providence, one would expect delicious food and excellent service, and the restaurant did not disappoint. Part of the experience is having the servers meticulously explain the intricacies of each dish before you chow down. We have at least 4 or 5 different servers at our table, i think mainly because no one would be able to remember all the different details about every single dish to be able to explain them correctly all night long. Everything tasted delicious, and the amuse bouche dishes were a nice addition at the beginning of the meal. The Uni egg was especially tasty, even for my gf who usually does not enjoy Uni. As far as negatives, I thought that the decor could be a bit more modern, and the service was so attentive, that it may have been a bit overly attentive. Overall however, it was a meal to remember.

Providence is a place where you have to go for a very special occasion or want to enjoy a memorable tasting experience with the Chef's tasting menu. The seafood and meat were all fresh and cooked well. My favorite was the sea urchin, I still remember how it rocked my taste buds and made me delightfully giggly. I thought the idea of a screw driver in a round shape and ice cube mojito melting in your mouth was refreshing as a starter. The cheeses at the end were a great end to a 11 course meal. I'll leave tips that may be helpful. - Must go for a special occasion! - I recommend the Chef's Tasting Menu. - Valet parking is great! - Service is very attentive. - Try wine pairing, the people next to us tried it and they said it was delicious. - Not recommended for big parties. More of an intimate setting. - Drinks were also tasty. - Small portions but it really does feel satisfying at the end.

I was treated to the most incredible meal at Providence for my birthday thanks to a very special person. We dined here with reservations for 7:30PM. We were seated promptly at the very last table in the back room. The menu consists of 3 prix fixe options which range from $140-$210, $70 more for wine pairing. We decided to go with the Chef's Menu which consists of 16+ courses ($210). I won't go into details about each dish. However, I do want to say that everything we had was absolutely amazing! See my pictures! Providence focus on the freshest seafood so rest assured that you will be served the best of everything. We got to taste live Santa Barbara spot prawns, Giant scallop with black truffle, Abalone, Wagyu, Caviar and so much more. Service was impeccable. Our dinner lasted a little over 4 hours! The best culinary experience I've had thus far. Parking: Valet only.

Loved it! The meal took 3 hours, but each dish was beautiful, and the servers were not pushy. If you go on a Monday night like we did, it's not crowded, and there's no corkage fee so we were able to save probably $200 not doing the wine pairing. Chose the 8 couse $140 option, but it ended up being about 16 courses with bread service. My favorite dishes were definitely the seafood options - tempura shrimp, scallops, and king salmon entree. I would return, but only if somebody else paid, because it's really a splurge restaurant. Still worth it though, if you're looking for a great tasting menu and fun time!

Can you give more than 5 stars? No? Well, then, consider this the #1 restaurant in Los Angeles. We finally went on Saturday and were not disappointed. We chose the seasonal chef's menu and I had two glasses of the best Riesling I've ever tasted. The meal started off with a rootbeer / ginger jello type shot of wonderfulness. We then went into these amazing nasturtium tacos, followed by some sort of kobe cigar rolls. My boyfriend and I still don't know what these cigar rolls really were but they were crunchy and the taste was amazing. Following that was "chips and dip" of crispy salmon skin and a dip of lime creme fresh. Scared yet? So was I, but everything was top notch and tasted amazing. I won't go through the whole menu but will tell you that if you're afraid of trying out sashimi or other fish dishes this place will not do you wrong. I hate salmon skin. Every time I've ever had it I've hated it and I would eat this dish from Providence all night long. DO be prepared for the price tag though -- we clocked out around $650 for two people, two glasses of wine, and a bottle of water. It was totally worth it for a once in a life time try. We would like to go back and try the chef's tasting menu once in our lives. This takes 3-4 hours and I'm not sure how you prepare for it stomach wise (to have enough room). Even though the bites are small, for the most part, I was very very fully by the time we got to desert. So, go and enjoy this at least once. You will not be sad.
