From the same paper that assured us Irene was not overhyped.
Nicholas Kristof originally shared:

A Libyan rebel soldier near Zuwarah asked me: "What about New York, is it safe?" I looked puzzled. "Irene," he explained. "The Hurricane. Is New York okay? We are worried about it." He even asked if he could help. I thanked him for his sympathy but said that we would pull through.

I consider it a mark of my progress that I get the joke.

Today's greatest irony: yields on U.S. Treasurys are falling as investors seek the safety of Treasurys following the downgrade of Teasurys.

I'm finding it increasingly difficult to take any of the architecture coming out of the Middle East seriously.

Wow.....super brave....

I've actually tried the "new" pizza from them a few times and it's definitely better, but nothing great. For the price point I still prefer DiGiorno.
In its latest effort at transparency, Domino's Pizza is running a Times Square billboard with a ticker displaying users' (almost) unfiltered real-time comments.

I want a stream that is all my circles EXCEPT the people I'm following. At the moment, it seems my only recourse is to have a circle called "Everyone," but that seems silly.

you can mute individual people (click on the little triangle in a circle at the top of one of their posts) - but there does not appear to be a way currently to mute a whole circle

Yes, but a species can be extinct AND having given a start to several others. (Example: Pierolapithecus catalaunicus is a common ancestor of humans and the great apes, but it is extinct...) Same for dead languages, I think. So is there a word that is given to a species if and only if it is an evolutionary dead-end? A leaf node? If there isn't, since technology is evolving so quickly, shouldn't we invent one?
