A contemporary garden design with a soft underbelly of colourful planting within a formal framework. The four box hedged beds have been planted with informal flowing plants. By turning the design on an angle the space appears larger than it is providing an ample space for seating and dining. The pergola adds height and privacy and the gentle sounds from the water feature counter any noise from the road nearby.

A simple re-modelling of a side return. The primary function of this area is to act as a wind break. Once the tough plants and shrubs have established and grown the affect of the wind on the garden should be significantly reduced. A new seating area has been established and the long wall punctuated with decorative Jackson's Fencing panels to give a slightly contemporary feel. The colourful borders and beds soften the whole garden providing a wonderful welcome for any visitor.

We completed this nature garden last year. Sorry this is the first chance that I have had to update our profile. The whole garden is designed for nature - from the pond, planting scheme to even the walling. The drystone wall garden structures are all build from Yorkstone providing nooks and crannies for creatures to set up house. We built a bird box, hedgehog house and bee hotel into the garden. The elaborate fireplace provides a pile of logs that are perfect for insects to hibernate in and the pond is already full of frogs. The garden design is based on a cross providing different areas for dining, relaxing and sitting. The avenue of acers provides height and stunning colour. The soft informal planting scheme is predominately based on bee and bird friendly plants. This is a garden that will get better and better as it matures. Our client re-sanded the patio after jet washing.

This small mid-terrace garden has been designed as a modern outdoor space that provides areas for all the family including the dog. Incorporating a seating area, dining area, raised bed, small artificial lawn and simple but contemporary planting scheme, a lot has been packed into a very small space and yet each area feels generous and open. Proof that good things do come in small packages despite very poor drainage and modelling clay for soil.

It has been a while. Sorry. We have been very busy designing and building new and exciting gardens including this front garden in Chester.  It had to be low maintenance and sit within the framework of the existing poorly laid paths. A huge difference and a lot nicer to look on to.

We have redesigned and rebuilt this Japanese garden inspired fish pond. The natural look was accomplished by hand picking the stone at the quarry. A new path and patio circle the new extension providing access and a beautiful place to sit and listen to the waterfall

We have completed a re-modelling of a Japanese inspired garden. We have redesigned and re-built the fish pond complete with new waterfall and cascade. We have installed a new filtration system and completely rebuilt all the dry stone walling to accommodate the extension. A new patio and path around the extension has been installed using reclaimed stone flags to provide beautiful views across the garden.

We have almost completed a stunning country garden in Chester. The garden is an L-shape so it was critical that the design seamlessly tied the two areas together. We extended the existing- AND POORLY LAID - patio to encompass a dining and relaxation area. The formal planting near the house drifts into a softer mixed border that draws your eyes towards the stunning views beyond the garden. The colour scheme has a limited pallet of colours again to provide unity and tranquillity, but more importantly not to distract from the views. A large contemporary semi-circle of grass will add movement and provides a narrative with the farmed fields beyond the boundaries. In November we will add three contemporary hedges to complete the scheme.
