*Early applications have an edge in college admissions*

Dear Ivy League Guru,
I am a senior in high school and have a question about the college application process. Should I apply under early action or regular decision? My application is ready to send, but I want to know which choice gives me the best odds for admission. I would also like to know what you think is the most important item on the application.

*Hone your reading skills ahead of standardized tests*

Dear Ivy League Guru,
I am a sophomore in high school and need some pointers on preparing for the requisite tests. I am taking the PSAT in the spring of 2016 and the ACT and the SAT in the fall of 2016. I want to do really well on the PSAT because the National Merit Scholarship uses these scores to determine winners and top ACT and SAT scores will be critical for my applications to top colleges.

What do you suggest?

After college, take the right steps to find a job

Purdue University. I have put off searching for a job because I feel
totally intimated and insecure about the interview process. I have read
books and visited the university's career development center, but...

Smart for senior to spend summer preparing for college admissions
Dear Ivy League Guru, School is out and I don't
expect to find a full-time job this summer. This will leave me with a
lot of free time. Rather than waste the summer, my mother suggested that
it would be a good idea to start working on my college applicat...
