Prime Meats is a farm to table restaurant created in the spirit of the inns and dining rooms found in New York at the turn of the century. Prime Meats is influenced by Germanic alpine cuisine and the menu pays tribute to the American artisan movement; featuring local and fresh ingredients, prepared simply and honestly.

Spun off from nearby Frankies, this steakhouse/cocktail bar is set in a Prohibition-style space.- Google

Steak frites were awesome. So was the special for the night - skirt steak.

Had a very good meal here. With its name, I thought I was going to a steakhouse. They have a hangar steak, that's it. Splendid, house-made sausages are the way to go, with some braised red cabbage. Excellent charcuterie platter to start, very nice Syrah-Grenache wine, prime indeed.

Great meat-centric place, tried lamb sausage. It was really tasty, especially with that spanish red wine they had. You can skip steak tartare though.

Very good burger and decent pretzel (although not worth 5usd). Riesling was passable but you would expect a bit more from a German place.

Every bite I had I literally closed my eyes unintentionally and stopped speaking because I was so overwhelmed with incredible flavor. side note: the best bacon I've ever had in my life!

Best place for brunch. Lots of meat and big portions.

Very nice atmosphere, the service was good but flaky at times. Went here for brunch, the roast beef sandwich was really good, the Bratwurst with mushrooms and a poached egg felt tired and uninspiring. The Bagel and the 3 rounds of brunch punch were the highlights of the meal. Oh, and the Coconut Cream Pie was absolutely amazing.

I finally went to this place recently, after hearing friends rave about it for months. It did not disappoint. We started with oysters, 3 different kinds, which were all done to perfection. Then I had a large steak (38oz split between 2 people), which is quite possibly the best steak I have ever had. I combined it with their french fries, which are delicious though not anything unique. We topped off the meal with their chocolate mousse, which if you like chocolate mousse you MUST have it. We drank beers the whole time, mostly local brews. They have their own special Brooklyn Brewery ale, which was amazing and is recommended. I'll be back.
