Today on catch-up Thursday, I've brought you a two-fer. In my attempt to become current I'm apparently gonna have to start doubling up. So, here it is. How does art measure up against a "real" profession, like say a doctor? Read on.

Okay. Very behind on my catching up and facebook keeps telling me the people who like my page haven't heard from me in a while. Like they're all weeping and wringing their hands and wondering what became of me. I'll say it once. "FaceBook, butt out. You're not the boss of me." Anyway, here's a blog.

So this catch-up deals with the age-old question, "When does a story really end?" Or maybe it's not an age-old question. Maybe nobody asks it but me. Maybe I'm the only man on earth pacing in the dead of night, asking "Why? Why? Why?"
Or maybe it's just one of those days. So, like, read the blog.

So I turned in my latest WIP to my agent today, which is always a soup of self doubt and recrimination. And this is the catch up blog in the rotation. Karma, like autocorrect, hates me. Read away.

Okay, I've started to lap myself. I must catch up more frequently. I am currently in the stage of revisions I was preparing for when I took a break from revising and fought through this blog. Meanwhile, my self-doubts have broken out the steroids so they can get me with full-on rage, beat me up and take my lunch money. Oh, here, read for yourself.

People say things. I know, so much raw wisdom you probably have to sit down. But my point is, beside playing more blog catch up, I wonder if people actually think about the things they say. Because when I think about what they say, all I get is questions. And the occassional one-fingered salute. Anyway, read this blog.

The thing about always being behind on blog posting, always catching up, is the tendency to always come up with a new excuse--like I'm writing a new mini-blog about my late blog. Wheels within wheels. Sigh. If only I had an editor...And with that decidedly ham-handed segue, I presethis week's catch-up blog. Writers and Editors...and bears, oh my.
I'm sorry. Forget I tried that.

It is ironic that I post this catch-up blog after making the perilous climb down from a major anxiety attack. Are these two events somehow related? Who knows? There are many mysteries in the hamster wheel that sometimes serves as my brain. But, no worried. Let the blog wash over you and enjoy.

Before I did this writing thing, I was a newspaper and magazine reporter. Before that I was a guy who thought about things and asked a lot of questions. Before that, I was the obnoxious child, always going, "Why, why, why?" Before that I just wasn't. Period. But all that to say I'm inquisitive. And sometimes, when there's no one around to annoy with my questions, I ask my blog readers...both of them.
