Hashknife Pony Express Ride .... one of the few remaining tributes to our western heritage. Hats off to Scottsdale Arizona for keeping it alive.

The Hashknife Pony Express, the longest sanctioned U.S. Postal Service Pony Express route in the world, will be making its annual trip to Scottsdale on Jan. 30 to deliver mail and celebrate the Old West with a

New Google Calendar.. coming   Anxious to see this show up.  I'm hoping that when all of this gets rolled out, along with Lollipop, that it will coordinate well enough to replace my current integrated apps package.  I would dearly love to use the nice looking Google Apps, but they need to have equivalent functions.  Currently, things like GMail not wanting to delete entries, and no integration with Evernote, are potential deal breakers.  I'm hoping that Evernote, or perhaps a 3rd party app developer, will address the Google/Evernote integration issue.
As part of the Google's continued push forward with Lollipop, Calendar is getting a major (and long-overdue) upgrade. Obviously that includes a Material

It would be interesting if we could read Angie's journal entries for the same morning adventure 🐾
My new morning routine. Coffee, check computer for email, bank and Facebook, more coffee, bathroom, gather supplies, call my little dog, she comes; and then I have to chase and catch her so we can go for our walk.  This is a ...

More ObamaCare Taxes   Just what we need from the most open and visible administration is more taxes.  Yeah, that's going to really help the economy.  Guess China will have to keep footing the bill as more and more US citizens (comrades) go on ObamaAide, and unemployment.
Be sure to read some of the comments under the article, too.

Government Healthcare Disaster   Great article and commentary.  I especially like the comparison between the Obamacare Website and the Mars Pathfinder Project.  I suspect the fuss over trying to delay the mandatory date was a little ridiculous, as it will probably be delayed due to sheer incompetency.

+Elias Toon OK...not sure what this has to do with the money ill-invested in a government software flop..
Would be interesting to see a breakdown of that claimed $24 billion though.

Updated Android Google News & Weather App  This sounds like something that has been done well.  I may try it, but I'm having a problem with so many of Google's Apps containing redundant functions,  NOW was supposed to be our Go To spot for daily information.. appointments, customized news, events, weather, etc.  But it seems like with the latest wave of updated/new apps we have news stories popping up in GMail, Inbox, News & Weather, NOW, and who knows where else.  It's getting confusing to know where to go for what....
It may have taken Google ages to bring Android's News and Weather app into the modern era, but it's seemingly bent on making up for lost time. The compan

Warning From Canada  Will anybody listen?... or will we let the POTUS just issue an Executive Order and create the National Gun Database defacto registration.  We've had enough people, history, and other countries warn us, so we will have no excuse other than stupidity if we let this happen.

"The Obama administration’s Department of Homeland Security is brazenly violating U.S. law and participating in criminal conspiracies to smuggle illegal immigrants into the United States".  -So says,  U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen in a December ruling.
Do you wonder why this doesn't show large on our so-called News Media ?

Radical Ideas for Climate Action    One of these ideas is probably a rational approach, but also probably impossible from a practical perspective.  When, and if, the full scientific community believes this to be a tested scientific theory, action will progress; and probably not the actions that are being promoted by the current activist/political groups.  Isn't it strange that we never hear a technology challenge similar to the Kennedy Moon Challenge to solve this; it's always something that people, usually some people, will have to quit doing.  I suspect that if the resources were made available to industry and science that took us to the moon, we would have an astounding solution.

Just got back from a week in Branson, our third time. Caught the Oak Ridge Boys, the new Jonah show at Sight & Sound, along with the Duttons, Haygoods, and our second time for the Baldknobbers. Accommodations at the All American Inn are extremely convenient to everything, while still being quiet and easy access. All set up by the great people at Branson Tourism Center. We met with three family members who came in from Iowa and Texas this year. Thought we had their shows included, but they enjoyed it so much we had to stop in at BTC twice to get tickets added for them to attend even more shows with us. Even then we had good seats and all together. Keep up the good work BTC ;-)

I have used this Enterprise location for a number of reservations and have been very satisfied. They have always done their best (usually successfully) to provide the model of car I needed. I left the 91st & Bell Rd office because they were terrible and acted like advance reservations meant nothing. They just gave me whatever was left on the lot. Since changing to the 75th & Cactus location, I've decided to continue doing business with Enterprise. Update 5/29/14: This past weekend I again rented a vehicle from this location. Although I had reserved a full sized car two weeks in advance, called two days before the rental date to confirm the date and vehicle class, upon arriving at the location they were short on full size vehicles unless I wanted to wait for a "possible" return. I hope the same attitude that prevailed at their 91st Ave and Bell Rd location has not infected this location as well. I have dropped the rating down from 5, to 4 stars, But if this type of service happens the next time, I will have to drop it down to 2 stars, and probably seek another provider. That will be a shame after so many years of doing business with Enterprise and recommending them to a number of senior organizations I participate with.

It's hard to find Gluten Free restaurant food, so Outback is a jewel to find. Combine that with excellent wait staff and food delivered hot and prepared as requested, and you have a class act for a franchise.

We have stayed at the Fairfield in Fagstaff a number of times now. Although we are still satisfied, especially with the location, the facility seems to be starting to suffer from age. For the price, the rooms are not quite up to the competition, and the exterior could use some intensive cleanup. If I was in the Marriott corporate office, I would definitely schedule this location for a good update and room remodel.
