Was just listening to this, wondering offhand how the bowls are tuned. Beautiful music. Singing bowls have reputed healing properties, as discussed alongside other healing instruments and practices in my work.

Amazing! The Hohle Fels flute, originally made out of the wing bone of a griffon vulture and dating back to around 37,000 years ago, was replicated by archaeo-technician Wulf Hein. The instrument was found in a nearly complete condition, and researchers are fairly certain it was a five-holed flute. Most interestingly, as Hein demonstrates in this video with a rendition of the opening sequence of the Star Spangled Banner, the flute was immistakably tuned to a pentatonic scale--again, 37,000 years ago! This is a common, contemporary musical scale that already has a deep history, but no one could have imagined that it plunged this far into prehistory. Check it out...

7 Defining Elements of the Future of Music, a.k.a. "Music 2.0"

As we breach the grand portal into a new renaissance of sound and music, we will start experiencing what I have come to refer to as Music 2.0. This will incorporate everything that we now know and love about music, while adding many amazing and revolutionary new features. The changes will be fundamental and significant enough to constitute what may be likened to a dimensional shift in music.

Music 2.0 is not genre specific. ANY AND EVERY GENRE OF MUSIC can benefit by these advancements. Although, I do predict that these fundamental changes will shake the very foundations of music—evolving the current genres and sprouting forth many new ones.

Music 2.0 will be far more expressive, aesthetically pleasing, and it will literally be healthier. Its utilities and enjoyment factor will coalesce, and we will never look upon our current paradigm of music the same.

Currently, here are the 7 defining elements of Music 2.0:

• Frequency-based tunings—emphasis on Key Frequencies
• A full palette of tuning systems and intervals
• Binaural Beats—brainwave entrainment and hemispheric synchronization
• Sound Healing through everyday music listening and enjoyment
• Dynamic Tuning System Modulation (TSM)
• Tuned rhythm, oscillation, and tempo
• New musical instruments, software and technology

For more information on this and much more, please read my forthcoming book, The New Renaissance of Sound and Music (coming soon). In the meantime, you can join the conversation at:  http://the-new-renaissance-of-sound-and-music.maatmedia.com/Forum/index.php

Everything is sound, or dynamic wave energy in motion. Atoms, molecules, cells--our entire bodies are all made up of the same vibrations. Understanding this is a step toward realizing the profound effects that sound and music can have on everything within and around us.

In this diagram, the probability density plots for the hydrogen wave function are shown in the orange-purple color scale. Upon seeing their forms, I was immediately reminded of several cymatics patterns that I had generated with a software tonoscope. These are shown in the the blue/red/yellow and black/white color scales.

Primordial Sound--Many major religions from around the world have a word, symbol, or concept for sound that is associated with the beginning of creation. Clockwise from left we have Kung (Taoism), Saute Sarmad (Sufism), Om (Hinduism), and Logos (Judeo-Christianity).

I finished assembling the tuning packages that will be free to download from my up-and-coming website. They include Scala and mapping files, charts, diagrams, non-kbm files, and instructions.
