After living in Austin for nearly 4 years, we FINALLY got to try Clark's Oyster Bar and it exceeded expectations. I had the red snapper risotto and my husband the clams and mussels in white wine and herb sauce and we were in heaven. The oysters were some of the best (so I heard, shellfish allergy prohibited me from enjoying a lot). Cocktails were on point - you know when a place puts a lot of thought into their drinks that the experience will be first class. Definitely a spcial occasion spot but we can't wait to go back!

This oyster house in Austin is famous for fresh seafood and sourdough made daily. The oysters on the half shell are delivered daily - we ordered West Coast - Washington and East Coast - Connecticut - the mild flavor of the West Coast oysters were unique. Others at the table ordered a hamburger and BLTs which were both perfectly prepared. I ordered clams and muscles in a citrus white wine broth - served with sourdough - awesome dish. Reservations are required and limited to 4 per party because the restaurant is small.

I've come here for their oysters before one night and they were super delicious! Their service was very good but oysters were even better. I also had never been here for lunch until a couple of weeks ago, and when I did, the service staff was so helpful and nice and accommodating! And when we were here for the MMH August Burger Challenge, I would like to throw in that this was on my list of my Top 2 burgers. I'm definitely coming back!

Excellent, but pricey. The bronzino is flavorful, but small. The oysters are top notch. This is a special occasion restaurant.

Go the Plateau de Fruits de Mer and everything on it was delicious. Especially the Crab, Lobster and Oysters. And even if you're not interested in seafood, the burger there is awesome as well.

Great brunch. The lobster and eggs dish was amazing. Awesome staff. The hostess saw that my date had on a black dress - and immediately came and traded her white cotton napkin for a black one. Class!

Love, love, love this place. I usually make it there with my two siblings and we make it an awesome experience. The food is always amazing, the lobster roll is to freaking die for and their selection of fresh oysters is impeccable. The clam chowder is just like being in New England, their cioppino takes me back to SanFran hmm, their crab cakes are divine. If you are ever in ATX and love good food and seafood, you gotta go to Clark's!!!

You certainly feel like you're entering an eatery on the main street of a coastal hot spot when you come to this West 6th restaurant. They offer some of the largest array of oysters here in town, but of course they'll come at a premium. The horseradish and cocktail sauce that they serve along with your oysters on a half shell are some of the best I've tried honestly. The horseradish is one of the most tame I've tasted so it doesn't overwhelm the oyster flavor while the cocktail sauce is one of the tangiest and sweetest ones I've tried, which ironically you should be mindful to not drown out the oysters. I tried both their grilled shrimp on toast and their mussels & clams in white wine & herbs. The shrimp come bunched up on top of a toasted slice of their sourdough bread and their Harissa aioli, which honestly tastes like a slightly spicier Hollandaise sauce, and under a bunch of shaved celery and pea tendrils which excellently gave you a crisp and fresh flavor to contrast with the charred toast and creamy aioli. The mussels and clams were quite enjoyable despite their size awakening you from the coastal dream to the inland reality. Despite the many slices of garlic found in the soup, I didn't find it to be the most garlicky flavored soup. I did enjoy the slight heat of the soup attempted by the few pepper flakes. Overall I would say that this is one of the better seafood joints in town that focuses on atmosphere.
