I'm so sorry Pam and John :(

Please be on the lookout for the following equipment:
Stolen Gear Alert

As many of you have already seen from a previous post, ALL of our (+John Getchel and my) photo equipment was stolen on Monday, October 28, in San Francisco. We shot the Bay Bridge, put our equipment back in the truck and went to dinner. When we returned, a window was broken and everything was gone! It happened at the corner of Embarcadero and Howard, on the east side of the street between 8:15pm and 10:00pm. (Witnesses? I can hope…)

This photo is a list of all Canon serial numbers, but it is not an exhaustive list, because we had other things: a Sigma lens, Lee filters, remotes, etc. However, this list represents the bulk of what it will cost us to replace the gear.

We would like to ask that everyone PLEASE share this so the serial numbers are widely distributed in case the equipment shows up for sale – either online (eBay, CraigsList) or in secondhand/pawn stores. We’re fairly certain it would probably surface in the Bay Area; however, it’s entirely possible with something of this value, it could be sent elsewhere. If you happen to find anything, please report it to the San Francisco Police Department, case #130916541, and let us know that something has been found.

THANK YOU ALL!!

Whooohoo!
#southbayshooters  is at it again! +Ed Sweeney  and I are organizing a walk to shoot the Dish.

Meet at the coordinates below a bit before 6p, and we'll walk up the hill (it's a bit of an incline, so don't wear heals!). Afterwards we'll find a bar / pub to hang out at.

Bring your gear, your sexy bodies, and your friends. Also - let us know if 1) you have a mo better cover photo and 2) you have a good bar suggestion.

Yay I figured out how to do this from the phone! Come on out everyone!!
Dave Powell from shoottokyo.com is in town and organizing a photowalk Sunday the 14th. Next to being an awesome person, and fantastic photographer he's also something of an expert at photowalks after having organized ones in Sydney, San Francisco, Tokyo, Beijing, Singapore, Hong Kong and Boston.

When: Sunday April 14th, 2013
Time: 2PM

Where:  Marina Green.  We will meet on the corner of Scott and Marina Boulevard.  We will shoot in and around Marina Green or wherever the road takes us.   After we lose light we will find a place to grab a bite and a few drinks.

Gear: Pack whatever you are comfortable shooting with.  Remember, the more gear you carry the less photographs you actually take. We will be walking so don’t pack too heavy.

Who: Photowalks are fun for everyone, and for all skill levels. From camera phones to  professional systems. It's all about the fun and about exploring and sharing with people with similar interests, so join us!

Whooohooooo - Sounds like fun!!
The San Francisco Bay Bridge lights project will have their grand lighting ceremony on March 5th. I want to shoot it either from Slacker Hill or just the vista point at the North end of the GG bridge.

A straight line shot over the top of financial district with an 85mm from slacker works great (see theme photo of mine that I shot at sunrise from slacker).

I'm also open to changing locations if you guys have a better one!  Also if you have any hookups for us to get on Alcatraz Island, let me know!

Bay light ceremony starts at 8:30pm, but we might as well get a sunset shot first, picnic, then wait for the lights.
