The commemorations taking place today to mark the 70 years since the end of the hostilities between Allied Forces and the Japanese in the East, poignantly remind me of the tremendous honour it was to be commissioned to produce two ' Rolls of Honour ' for the Burma Star Association in the 1990's.  Personally, those who served in the Burma Campaign  will never be seen by me as the ' Forgotten Army '..

'' Brading Town & Harbour '' (1870) - Stain Removal.

Following standard Western, aqueous treatments I recently achieved a successful result in reducing the intensity of an acidic migration stain pervading a picturesque late 19c Aquatint.  The cleaning of antique paper, prints and planographic works of art often come under the remit of the Book Conservator.

                             '' Brading Town & Harbour '' (1870).
Hand coloured, Steel engraved Aquatint. Engraved by E. Brandard from a drawing by A. Sims. (Plate No.4 of six plates from, '' A General History of the Isle of Wight '', by James Virtue published in 1870 with other illustrations by Cousens. Published by Lockhart.
