We are pleased to announce the newest member of the Charlestowne Hotels portfolio, The Stowehof, in beautiful Stowe, Vermont. Surrounded by 26 acres and enveloped by sweeping mountain vistas, The Stowehof is one of the most storied and notable of Vermont’s classic Alpine resorts. Come ski in the winter, hike in the summer, or foliage watch in the fall; no matter what the season, The Stowehof offers guests the comfort of home with the excitement of a true escape.

Advances in internet/cloud based hotel systems and communications tools have made it easier over the last several decades for Charlestowne Hotels to grow from our home base in South Carolina, now reaching locations as far away as Massachusetts, Illinois, Arkansas, and beyond.

That said, there's still no substitute for face to face interaction, and this week we've brought our general managers and corporate operations team together in Charleston. Collectively they traveled over 5,000 miles to share experiences, learn from each other, and help each of our clients reach their full potential. Thanks for a great conference, and we'll see you all on-property soon!

As June comes to a close, we are wrapping up our first ever corporate philanthropic campaign with One-Eighty Place. In addition to raising a significant amount of money (look for that announcement soon), we have donated goods for families moving into new homes, put together hygiene kits for residents in One80 Place's dorms, and are serving lunch through the end of the week in their Community Kitchen.

Here Nadine, Jessica, and Ryan from our corporate team are prepping for Wednesday's lunch service.

Great photos don't just happen. We believe that photoshoots are one of the most valuable investments you can make when marketing and promoting your hotel. Great photography supports every single room night sold, and can be the difference between a guest who is considering booking and a guest who books.

We believe a successful photoshoot requires preparation. From planning the shotlist, to scouting best times of day for each shot, to carefully selecting models (along with their wardrobe and props), a great photoshoot takes time to put together.

Unique touches to engage, surprise, and delight guests aren't limited to rooms and traditional common spaces. The Harbor Hotel team on Cape Cod recently commissioned this spectacular whale mural on one of the hotel's exterior walls. We think it's a beautiful tribute to the history of Cape Cod and Provincetown.

Our own Sam Trotter makes the case that even though there are more places than ever to dedicate your marketing dollars, when it comes to hotel marketing, email is still king.

But to get the most out of it, you still have to do it right. Get Sam's advice on our blog, and then give us a call if you think your hotel could be doing more to maximize your email list.

When we are brought into a development project, it's important to the success of the hotel that we know as much as we can up front. That's why we like to get on-site as soon as possible.

Recently Charlestowne team members headed to Tim's Ford Lake in Tennessee to visit one of our newest development clients. To get a project right, we need to know how to tell the story. We can get a sense from pictures and renderings, but the sounds, the smells, the overall feel of a place are critical to driving what the guest experience will be.

Stay tuned on social media and our website for more to come on this, and other projects in the works. http://ow.ly/i/vDkPV http://ow.ly/i/vDkX1

Now open, just a block from Clemson's Memorial Stadium. The Abernathy, Clemson's Premier Hotel, pays homage to the late Larry Abernathy, Clemson’s longtime mayor and a much-loved professor whose commitment to the city and school was all-inclusive. To stay here is to experience Abernathy’s Clemson: gracious, welcoming, effortlessly hospitable.
