Basic Information
After 2 years working out at a traditional gym, I had surgery for a torn shoulder tendon and went through several months of PT. I knew I needed to get back into a regular workout routine, but was looking for something new and different. I heard about The Shockyard Fitness & Social Club and signed up for a personal training program. It was a great decision! The Shockyard is different than traditional gyms. Workout programs are created by the owners, Laura Vineyard and Casey McGrath (who also happen to be personal trainers with PhDs in biological science) and are customized for my needs…They even work in PT exercises for my shoulder. Plus, the atmosphere at The Shockyard is supportive and fun, with lots of opportunities to participate in personal training challenge events, nutrition counseling, and fun social events with other members. They also offer group training. Most importantly, they have a “body-positive” philosophy, focusing on overall health and fitness, so you don’t have to get wrapped up in how much you weigh and just focus on your fitness goals. I’m very happy to be a part of The Shockyard family, and highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for a better way to get healthy and fit.
