Just went to Mama's for the first time today and it was a nice experience. We were greeted with a smile and seated promptly. The establishment was clean with a pleasant atmosphere. The hostess took our drink order as soon as we were seated and our waitress brought them out within minutes. Took us awhile to figure out what we wanted but the waitress stopped by more than once to check if we were ready and always with kind words and a smile. Once we ordered the food came out quick and hot. Our waitress was wonderful and one of the best I have ever had and trust me that is saying a lot. The food was great and the portions are a nice size. Nice meal, good prices, and great service. We will definitely be back.

Love the customer service. I believe it was a Saturday morning and the hostess was very sweet and very caring. I felt as if I've known her all my life.. She had an unusual name something like Tunisiaboohoo!! Haha love all the diners. Best home cooked food ever. Great for the holidays.

Usually all dishes are good....much better than Normas for sure. Felt the northdallas price kick in with my breakfast today. The quoted bacon add-on at order with the omelette was a third of what the register hit me with. Had a 15 dollar tab for what I usually pay 8 to 11 for (eggs are 15 cents each! I thought). Service was different. Think I'll skip it next time.

The breakfast was superb as always and great service. Reminds me of my Tennessee home cooked food. Loved it.

I've been to this place a few times mainly because sometimes I'm just craving a fried pork chop & they're one of the few restaurants that has it. Those are good, not great. The sides are usually pretty good, though almost always need salt. Today, I got the chili with fritos, cheese & onions (in other words, a frito chili pie). This thing is $8.32 including tax. It's in a huge bowl (see my photo), but since most of that bowl is edge, it's only about $2 worth of food. The menu says it's homemade chili, but I'm here telling you that it tastes suspiciously like Hormel canned chili. Don't go here thinking you'll get a cheap meal. You'll get an okay meal for not so great prices & waitresses with southern spunk & sarcastic humor. It's a mecca for retired people though so if you want to hang with them, go on down there.

My husband and I use to have breakfast here almost every weekend. But stopped going because service started lacking. So this morning we decided to go and see if things had improved. Sorry to say it took our waitress being reminded four times by the time our full order was on the table. And with that I still did not get my toast and she had to remove it from our ticket. They need some waitresses that can get the orders straight and on the table in a timely fashion.

Very Rude when it come's to them almost at closing hours. (Which I must say that NOONE informed us that it was almost closing time until after we ordered our food)...The Blonde mean lady was too busy trying to get us in and out so fast, that she failed to tell us that our food would be slopped out to us COLD, and then be rushed during our entire meal, she brought the check to us right after our COLD FOOD came out to us and she had the nerve to stand OVER the person signing for tip/total on the receipt because "She needed to close down for the day"! I mean come on, I been in the service industry and you do NOT EVER STAND OVER the person paying for the ticket, watching over to see what amount they were signing off with! I understand that it was closing time but they should have warned us prior to seating us and we would of been kind enough to find another place to eat! To end off the worst customer service on top of that, the mean, sandy blonde haired, fat lady failed to tell us the doors were locked and we would have to go around to the side doors, BUTTT she failed to tell us anything until a few moments later was BECAUSE SHE WAS TO BUSY CHATTING AWAY with her co workers and laughing away while counting Tip money! Such a bad Diner. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME THERE! The food was great but the closing manager I believe was a complete kill on reviews for this diner. You may want to RE-TRAIN your employees, to NOT EVER STAND OVER customers when closing out the tab, and maybe they need to also be trained to not take in customer prior to a certain time if they did not want to treat us with any respect and rush us our entire time there even more rude, turning the lights off little by little to notify us its closing time! VERY RUDEEE SERVICE!
