Thanks to your help, many of the 'ancianas' from San Jorge have daily access to essential nutrition support in our San Jorge Feeding Center. They are very grateful and we thank you for contributing to save what represent a truly lifeline for elderly and kids in critical need. #Food #Ancianas #help #rural #Guatemala

How much do you know about extreme poverty?

Live #BelowtheLine is a challenge to spend just $1.50 a day on food & drink for 5 days fromApril 27th - May 1st, 2015. By taking part in the challenge, you are calling attention to the lack of choice and opportunity faced by 1.2 billion people living in extreme poverty. You are challenging yourself and others to think about #extremepoverty and about the choices you make every day.

Get involved! #Itshappening

In 4 days, we raised over $2,561 to help Save our San Jorge Feeding Center!

Reminder - a generous donor has given us an exciting challenge to raise $20,000 on GlobalGiving in just 20 days and they will provide the remaining amount for the purchase. With just about 2 weeks left, we have $7,439 more to go.

Who will help us Save Our Elderly & Kids in Crisis Feeding Center to support beautiful elderly ladies like the ones below?

Here at Mayan Families, we believe that something as basic as clean water means better health, education, and income-generating potential. In short, clean water can both save and change lives. On this global day of celebrating water and recognizing those who do not have access to it, we are proud to share with you what we are doing to help in rural Guatemala.

In just 3 weeks, we've raised $10,000 on our #GlobalGiving campaign to Save Our Feeding Center!

If we can hit the $20,000 mark (so just $10,000 more) in the next 20 days, an anonymous donor will provide all the remaining funds needed to secure our building! Donate today and have an amazing impact on the community of San Jorge for years to come:

Without this center, these elderly and children will become even more vulnerable to malnutrition and other health dangers. By gaining the building, we can continue our feeding programs and expand to include other educational ...
