Because of the $3 billion cost and risks of tunneling under the airport, transportation officials are turning away from a light-rail station at LAX.

Instead, they're planning a people-mover tram to bring rail passengers to airport terminals.

Is this the best solution?

Today in the +Los Angeles Times: Metro officials are backing away from bringing light-rail directly into the LAX terminals, saying it's too costly and risky. Some instead favor bringing rail and a people-mover (circulator train) into a ground transportation hub about a mile away.
