Loved her music all thru her career since the 80s ... yes, the white hair is coming, but so is mine.  Great to have her music on this journey thru life together.

Has time gone by so fast ?  I followed her from the 10,000 Maniacs... I guess the full grey hair wakes me up to my own sense of age.  Beautiful singer

Good thing the engine was in front!

A couple had a very lucky escape after nearly reversing their car off a 15m drop in Changsha, capital of southern China's Hunan Province. The man and woman were parked on the top of a car park when the incident happened. It is thought that whoever was driving mistakenly trod on the accelerator, causing the car to reverse. This sent it smashing through the wall around the edge of the car park and left the vehicle teetering precariously over the 15m drop below. The couple were forced to crawl carefully out from the vehicle and were luckily uninjured.

Amazing documentary.  I am especially touched by the 2 brothers who pull their oldest brother in a old self-made wheelchair thru unpaved roads, river and crazy Indian traffic to school (daily!) - all with a sense of love and responsibility.  Not a word of complaint (at least on video).  What a definition of Christian brotherly love.  Must-watch TV !

In today's deeply interdependent world, war is outdated and illogical. All regions, and all peoples, are interconnected environmentally, economically, and politically. War, oppression or civil strife in one area inevitably affects people in other parts of the world.

A GOOGLE+ EXCLUSIVE CONTEST

EVER WANT TO HAVE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY WORK PUBLISHED IN A MAJOR BOOK? One that you could find on Amazon, Barnes and Nobel and many other major retailers around the world? Now is your chance!

I am in the middle of writing a book titled "Google+ for Photographers" where I not only showcase how to use Google+, but I also focus on the importance of social networking and building your own brand for your photography work in the digital age. Throughout the book there will be interviews with some of the incredibly talented professional photographers we have here on G+ such as +Alex Koloskov, +Scott Jarvie, +Elena Kalis, +Jay Patel , +Varina Patel, +Brian Matiash and others. This is where you fit in. In the comments below, I want you to write a mini essay on why you think Google+ is so great for photographers. It has to be under 300 words and you will also need to include a link to some of your photography work. On December 2nd I will select TWO winners that will have full page spreads in the book, showcasing their bio, the winning essay and a handful of their images for the world to see. But that is not all. I will also select 10 more individuals to have their essays published on the books home page website along with some of their work as an indication of the amazing photography community we have growing here.

TO ENTER
- In the comments below, write a short essay on why you feel Google+ is so great for photographers (In 300 words or less). Title your comment as "*CONTEST ENTRY*", or it might get missed.

Just watch Riding Giants documentary flick... this guys are outrageous. They are MILES away from shore... they use boats and seadoos to chase the best waves in the wide open ocean. In this case, Mavericks is off the coast of Half Moon Bay here in San Fran Bay Area...

Folks, order your breakfast to go ! Why waste 2 to 3 hours of your life on the weekends here ? Give it up after 9:30 am - there's no hope. Otherwise, I like their Colorado omelets and ALWAYS order to take home and I don't even need to tip !

Overall a pretty good movie theatre. They've remodeled 2 years ago, but mostly for the food concessions (to make more money). The viewing experience is relatively unchanged. My BIGGEST peeve is the 3D movies - where you pay extra $5+ more, and they give you a small theatre to see it. What's the problem ? I deserve a decent theatre if I pay $5+ more...
