Last Tuesday, Asa Garber led a discussion on potential issues to consider when entering into business with someone. In startups, like any other company, business partners have disagreements, even if they know each other well. The best remedy for these disagreements is language that addresses these potential problems before they happen. Check out his slideshow to learn more: http://ow.ly/ZUctu

When you’re a startup lawyer, part of your job is to serve as a document merchant. It’s probably my least favorite part of my job, but it’s something we do. I love learning from startups. I love working with startups. The documents are a small part of what we provide to our clients. But, using the right documents at the right time, and then applying them correctly to the specifics of your situation – that’s the trick, my friends. http://ow.ly/ZlwHL

One of the more creative ways to raise money for your startup is by doing well in a Hackathon. Hackathons aren't geared towards businesses of course, their purpose is to work on new ideas not old ones. But, they can help you gain valuable insight into your product, process, and ability. And, if you're good enough you might walk away with some dough and a lot of publicity. Read more about Hackathons on my blog posted here: http://ow.ly/Z5weB . Have a great weekend!

I often meet with Startups locked into thinking there are only a few ways to raise money for their business. The purpose of my series, 21 Ways to Raise Money for your Business is to educate entrepreneurs about the conventional ways to raise money along with some other more unconventional methods that may work for you and your business. http://ow.ly/YWsr2
