Love YOUR Health
Health and wellness is not just about eating food, it means taking a closer look at other areas of your life where you are fed, making the connection and nourishing oneself based on those individual needs, whether it is relationship, career, physical activity, or nutrition. I specialize in advocating my clients to achieve life balance, fulfillment, self awareness, and optimal health by providing them with tools that will aid in their success of reaching and sustaining their health goals in life permanently. Whether they struggle with managing Stress at work, weight management, or selecting the proper foods that align with their "Bio-individuality" My approach is not to dwell on calories, carbs, fats, and proteins. It is not to create lists of restrictions or good and bad foods. Instead, I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is easy to adopt, sustainable, fun, and rewarding.

Did you know?
Skipping meals (like breakfast for example) does more harm to your body than good.

If you consistently skip meals your body's metabolism will adjust accordingly- that means it will slow down. Meaning you will be doing the opposite in your weight loss endeavors and can possibly lose muscle in the process. Your loss will be temporary

My recommendation- I live by this principle - "eat food, not too much, mostly plants"- thank you Michael Pollan.

Don't let this shizz fool you- just because it's organic doesn't mean it's good for you.

Oh and they are salty as hell btw- don't waste your life or money on these. 😭

I'm a picky eater when it comes to what I put IN and ON my body- so soap is no different. I'm way too busy - so it has to do multiple jobs at once. Clean, moisturize, and smell invigorating w/out poisoning us 😂- that's a conversation for another time though.

One of the things you don't see in the picture here that I also add to my soap is 100x Aloe Vera powder.
1) Aloe Vera moisture
2) Castillo soap effective cleaning (a little goes a long way so I dilute mine by adding water- this bottle has filled all of my soap dispensers and my cleaning spray bottles).
3) Essential Oils- mine are therapeutic grade which means they do way more than just smell good- they are sourced sustainably and aren't "stepped on" or "adulterated"- they are the real deal- not OTC but what I would call "prescription strength". I won't give a Botany or Chemistry lesson here- but these oils are extremely potent/ and effective at what they do naturally- and each has their own unique set of properties.
Water - to fill the rest of the bottle and dilute

Did you know this about Grain?

Foods such as corn, rice, wheat, and the like are usually what people fill up on during meal time - Bread/cereals/pasta/dough/baked goods etc.

Contrary to the Standard American Diet, you'll want to eat these sparingly. Sprouted grains are fine in moderation organic is ideal. Grain can wreak havoc in the gut, can trigger inflammation (like bloat) in the body, consumption of grain can also lead to leaky gut, and contribute to autoimmune disease symptoms persisting - it has also been shown to alter a person's mood and even contribute to or cause brain fog.

For those with an Autoimmune disease, you'll want to avoid grains that create gluten while the gut is being rebalanced/healed.

Davon's Healthy Living Tip -

Vitamins/Mineral Supplements - they do not replace good nutrition the right supplement will help to “supplement” what you are currently doing - which should be living a balanced lifestyle that includes healthy ways to manage stress, consumption of nutrient dense foods, clean water, and movement.

What type of vitamins should you look for? Those that are what one would consider "bioavailable" or can be easily absorbed by the body. Vitamin and mineral supplements are not a one size fits all, as what works for one person may not work for someone else (an example of this is those that have the MTHFR gene mutation).

Another tip I live by and recommend to my clients -
Make sure you add the right amount of healthy fat to your daily eating routine. The right healthy fat balance can help you release unwanted fat, support brain function, and reduce cravings for sugar.

Avoiding fat altogether can be detrimental to your health, and overdoing any type of fat can be problematic.

Avoid denatured overly processed fats/oils. If you'd like to know more about the types of fats that you should have in your life, message me or leave a comment.

The Difference We Feel When We Drink More Water is Amazing!

Our Bodies are more than 70% water if you do not have a health restriction, make sure you are drinking enough water without overdoing it. A good target is ½ your body weight in ounces daily.

Water helps the body detoxify itself and helps clear the pathways for our organs and skin to function properly. If you add anything to your water – avoid processed items like crystal light etc, you can add fruit/veggies to your water if you’d like (not fruit juice) ;).

I personally like to add 1 drop of lemon essential oil to my water, sometimes its grapefruit, tangerine, or lime. 0 guilt because there's no added sugar or chemicals.

You also want to avoid drinking distilled water or water with added fluoride.

If you have questions about what type of water you should drink or what essential oils to trust to use, message me or leave a comment.

A Tip I live by:
People sometimes say it's expensive to eat healthily you can actually save money in the long run if you do it right.

Convenience always costs more – for example, pre-cut and washed produce will cost more, butchered meat without bones and skin will cost more. Do your own prep work and you will save money in the long run.

Splurge when it makes sense to buy a convenience item- like sometimes you just don’t have the time to cut wash and prep stuff but you want to keep your nutrition on track, pay the extra few bucks for the convenience because it’s going to pay off in the end because you won’t end up eating something that you’ll regret.

Confession: I used to experience sinus infections on a regular basis. I've found that one of the biggest culprits behind those bouts was the household cleaners that I was using - they were literally making me sick.
It took me over a year to figure this out and multiple appointments with my Dr and a lot of time/effort and energy to figure it out.
Once I realized what I was doing, I chose to use natural based cleaners (like 7th Generation etc), but they began to add up $$ and I didn't want to pay for water. I wanted to know exactly what was in my cleaner so I opted to create my own disinfectants/cleaners using Essential Oils. The Best decision I've ever made for my lifestyle/finances/health and well being because Essential Oils aren't just for cleaning.

It's the Season for Coughs/Colds/Allergies/Respiratory Infections and the Flu -
Here's my go to recipe for cough syrup (yeah we avoid the Nyquil and stuff).

I only use brands that I trust for internal use.
