Welcome to 'Haunts of Bridport & West Bay' a page about my new book researched and written here in Dorset.

Paranormal research has been my passion, sometimes obsession for most of my adult life. I'm fascinated by buildings and locations that earn the title as "being haunted".

What is it that gives these places of interest this branding?

What is it about us? Why do we experience such strange phenomena?

These are the questions that have led my work personally, and with 'The Dorset Paranormal Research Team' for many years.

I’ve always wanted to write and feel that now is the right time to begin this project and to start putting pen to paper.

This book will re-write existing accounts from this magical corner of Dorset, and look at them with fresh eyes. Its main aim though is to reveal new accounts, some of which will be investigated as case studies. Although there have been references and pages dedicated to strange occurrences in print before, there has never been a book dedicated to this area that brings these past accounts together, and adds a whole new area of research.

I hope very much to engage all readers, whether a resident in Dorset, have an interest in local history and mystery, or have just found this book by chance whilst visiting.

‘Haunts of Bridport & West Bay’ will be dedicated to my beautiful children who have to put up with an unconventional Dad, and the late paranormal researcher and writer Peter Underwood who loved the South West of England, and whose books have inspired me beyond words.

Thank you for reading my first post of this new page. If you want to find out more about the book, or have something to add.

Please do not hesitate to email me at hauntsbook@gmail.com.

Kind Regards,

David Goulden.

AsOne Theatre Company is proud to announce we have been commissioned by Leviathan - The UK's First Maritime Literary Festival, here in Weymouth - to write and present a new play for children encouraging families to read stories about the Sea, and the people who live, play and work around and on it. We plan an exciting multi media piece with drama, songs, puppetry, and animated image - working title 'The Fisherman's Son' in the process of being written now exploring maritime themes of courage, danger, isolation, camaraderie, family, and love.

We will be touring Dorset libraries and will be bringing the play into primary schools. So if your school might be interested then do contact us.
