One word. Gangster. I was taken to Casa Dante by my family members. I have to say this place is not only upscale, but "more Italian" than places you'll find out west. From the sights and sounds Casa Dante has that small community feel with authenticity of the Italian language heard throughout the restaurant. There is a back room of which I imagine is reserved for the frequent, affluent, and conservative clientele that frequent Casa Dante. The food is delicious, and flavorful with an impressive menu. I don't know if there is anything that you cannot go wrong with. I recommend this place if you want to splurge or to start off a wonderful evening by bringing a date. Although subdued from the outside, the parking lot tells a lot about the place. So have fun, dress to impress, and most of respectful, because you never know who's shoulder you may be brushing up against. Ciao! Pros * Upscale * Delicious menu * Top notch service * Quiet * Exclusive Cons * None Review date: 10/26/2008

This place is like entering a time capsule. Expect to pay more than you'd expect for average food for the chance to peak into the world of Hudson county back in the day.

Old school Italian-American fare served in an updated dining room by an obsequious waitstaff. A classic from another era. Good for seafood salads, veal cutlets and cold cocktails. A pity they took the tripe off the menu.
Response from the owner - 2 years ago
Tripe, an old favorite, is not listed on the menu, however, if you call ahead our chef will prepare for you. Let us know when you make your reservations. We always re-create old favorites for our friends. thanks!

Its local to Jersey City, picture eating at your Aunt Maria's house. You know everyone there, the food is good and just what you would expect from a local italian eatery.

One of the best Italian restaurants I have been to (and I live in NYC). Service is impeccable, food is consistently outstanding and made only from the highest quality ingredients. Owners are extremely gracious, and it is clear that they take no shortcuts to ensure that their customers are well taken care of. This restaurant features delicious nightly dinner specials, great wine dinners and amazing live weekly entertainment. Definitely check it out and you will not be disappointed!! -CS

Great food with an old school Jersey atmosphere. I swear I saw Sammy "The Bull" reading the racing form near the front door on my way out. It's not cheap, though.
