Sunday hacksession.

Not everyone can make a Thursday evening or has something they are working on that will take a bit longer than an evening session (like our Tuesday sessions). If this is you then the monthly Sunday all day session is the one for you.

Start: 9:00am and finishing 3:30pm.

Come and join us either for the whole day or drop in and see what's going on.

This is excellent news.

This is good.
In what's being heralded as a secular triumph, the UK government has banned the teaching of creationism as science in all existing and future academies and free schools.

Wondering if any of my Southampton hackspace friends have any suggestions to help bob?

Hi all.
Does anyone know of any shared office facilities in the Southampton / Romsey area of the UK ?
Simply need a hot desk with two power outlets and WiFi for one day per week in the beginning.
Wouldn't mind if it was a Hack/Makespace or a small company wanting to earn a little extra money.

This post could be someone surveying my home, when I first purchased I was warned of damp and got given a ridiculous quote to inject a DCP. The DCP company surveyor barely looked at the problem to work out what it is and the injected solution wouldn't have solved the problem because it would have been above the finished floor level inside. When i explained to the company what i thought of their surveying, their response was "do you want us to do the work or not" to which I replied no, they proceeded to hang up the phone on me. The crazy quote did result in a reduced purchase price though :)

The first job I did when I moved in was to lower the external ground level, hack of the render and re-render finishing above the DCP. 4 years later and I have no damp problem whatsoever.

Out the back I hacked the render off and cleared the ground back. I am now getting on with re-rendering and sorting out the finished ground level
I inspected a property recently and thought you might be interested in the dampness caused by cement render entrapping moisture against the masonry wall. Internally, there was evidence of moderate ...

Honestly the more I look into it, the more I think 99.9% of remedial DCP companies are con merchants.

Most properties are built well, it's the work done on and around them over the years which usually need attention.
