Not only are we a quick drive to the Portland Farmers Market at PSU, we are also minutes away from the Vancouver Farmers Market just across the river. Both ranked very high on "America's Best Farmers Markets".
The list-makers at The Daily Meal unveil their picks for the 101 best farmers markets in America, including the Portland Farmers Market's Saturday edition at Portland State University, which ranks No. 2.

Over time, as Portland grew, the docks moved north and the city's commercial district migrated west to Fourth and Fifth avenues. Many of the old buildings along Front were abandoned. About the same time, the automobile had pretty much pushed aside the streetcars and interurbans as the main way for Portlanders to get around town and get out of town.

We spent three nights at this hotel. Although the hotel has some views of the river, when we checked in we were told if we wanted a view we had to pay $15 per night extra. Our room overlooked the old, cracked and worn out tennis courts with a view of the river behind them. The day before checkout, I called the front desk to inquire about getting some shipping tape for my box that would ship back my luggage. I have a physical impairment and needed to ship my luggage. When I told the front desk I need some shipping tape because I was shipping my luggage via my UPS account and planned to take the package to a UPS store, the front desk person said, "...you don't need to do that, just bring it down to the front desk and will tape it up, put the label on it and call UPS...we do it all the time." So, I delivered the box with my luggage in it to the front desk with my UPS account label mid afternoon of the same day. Following my return home, the package was not delivered and my numerous calls led me down a myriad of people, most of whom don't return phone calls and you have to work through voice mail, even with security...none of whom knew anything about my luggage. When I called security, I had to leave a voice message because, "we are out making rounds..." What if there was a life and death emergency!? My luggage contained a very expensive DELL notebook computer that I use when I travel...after nearly a week I still have no resolution and everyone at this hotel claims ignorance. At last contact they were supposed to review the security tapes to determine where the luggage ended up. They couldn't care less. Be careful of this place. I would have rated this place three stars, tops, but after this experience...I am sorry. Yikes!

I stayed here 2 nights with my three children. Overall, the hotel was very nice. Our room was clean and so was the pool and hot tub. The bathroom was very large which was particularly nice for bathing two small children. The bed was too soft for me, but I prefer a very firm bed. The only thing I did not like was that our room was at daylight basement level. The only concern I had was the old railings on the walk to the pool do not meet modern standards and I was afraid my youngest was going to fall right through them.

Terrible. Asked for ground floor when I reserved room and didn't get it. Instead was put on 4th floor next to interstate highway 5. It was loud. Forgot my iPhone charger. Called literally 10 minutes after leaving and asked for them to send it. They didn't do it. Water leak outside my room in the ceiling so I had to walk around a bucket of water. Felt this place was run down and dirty. Will never stay in any hotel associated with this company.

Overwhelmingly gross smell in room and on bed sheets, super uncomfortable beds, disgustingly dirty pool, unfriendly, unhelpful staff. Do not stay here. Horrible experience.

Cody, I am very disappointed in the issues you experienced and I will follow up with my Housekeeping staff to address the room and sheet smell as that is an uncommon comment we do not receive very often, The hotel has oversized pillow top mattresses and they are a little soft for some guests, We also do a check of the pool every 2 hours for proper chemical balance and cleanliness and those results are logged daily, I will follow up with this also, We strive to exceed our guests' expectations in all that we do and it is clear that in this case we failed. I need to give a shout out to Jantzen Beach Bar and Grill for an amazing Birthday night! From the Restaurant and the Lounge, I felt like VIP and my friends did as well! I recommend them to anyone that wants a night out on the town and to feel special! Thanks Isaac, Karina, Crystal and Jessica!

Stayed here for a week for a conference. The room was dirty upon arrival and the housekeeping staff did the bare minimum daily. The food provided for the conference wasn't very good either.
