Uhh... Holy smokes! This is one of the most extraordinary demonstrations of human athleticism I have ever seen.

Just a few shots of my new EDC. Hogue EX-4 with a modified wharncliffe blade, 3.5" model. 154CM for the steel, and an unlined pair of sculpted G-10 slabs for the handle.

Looking at it again, is not recurved as the Ken Onion's ZT's. This curve looks more purposeful and easier to sharpen than those.

Well, a 15 hour shift feels a lot different at 37 than it did 32 or 33 years old. I feel like I just did five rounds with a Golden Gloves boxer. #myassiskicked!

Black Swallowtail Butterfly caterpillars. Apparently they really like Dill because a dozen of them devoured that plant in a little less than 24 hours.

So by-and-large Luna is running smooth for me. I am curious if anyone can offer some insight into a Google Maps problem though. When I try to access Maps through the Chrome browser, everything but the actual map will render on screen. All of the options, search bars and even the thumbnail for the alternate view. The fullscreen map is just a black box though. This is a non-critical issue for me, but it is something I would like to correct if possible. Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

Not sure. I'm a bit of a noob with alternative OSs. elementary is the first one I've tried out. Thank you for the suggestions though. If I can't get Chrome working is there a way to migrate the relevant data to Midori?

Glad to find a Chromebook section here! I want to enable ADB and Fastboot on a Samsung XE303C12.I found the tutorial over on XDA but I wanted to confirm the download type before I go ahead. As far as I can tell, the Exynos processors would need the ARM download, not the X86. Is this correct?

Found this out on my patio tonight. If you look closely, you can see the babies all over her back.

Galaxy Nexus  -

Just wanted to briefly relate a positive experience. I just crossed over the one year point with my Verizon GNex a couple of weeks ago and began having trouble with the charging port. Figures, right? It started out as a notable difference in charging speed and over several days got worse until it would not charge at all or communicate with the computer via USB. Having heard of the issues this device has with the USB port I did a little research to see if there was anything I could do about it myself. I found that the part was available on eBay and Amazon for between $5 and $15. I then had a look at YouTube to see if a teardown video was available and if it seemed like it was something I was capable of doing. As it turned out I found an excellent video showing very clear instructions. In addition, and this part impressed the hell out of me, the GNex has a modular assembly so that individual parts can be changed out with relative ease. The only part I would call difficult at all is removing the guts from the housing. The rest of it was just screws and snap style connections. End of story, for ten bucks and fifteen minutes I was able to breathe some new life into the old girl. Hopefully enough to get through this contract.

General Discussion  -

Alright! With the help of a friend with a lot more knowledge than myself I now have a Windows7/elementary dual boot setup. I am impressed with what I have explored so far and I am eager to learn more.

I installed elementary as an educational tool to learn more about alternatives to Microsoft software. I am hoping someone might be able to recommend some reading material or other resources for a noob to get a more in depth understanding. I am building my education from the ground up, so the simpler the better right now. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

+Nicolás Vásquez Opazo Thank you for the links. I will definitely check into them.

+Isaiah PEz I needed help with a couple of hurdles with the install process. He works in IT for a living. As far as Luna goes he wasn't familiar with elementary in particular so I am exploring on my own.

Am I the only one who hates traveling, because it means at the very least a pain in the rump to carry your knife?

A few days ago I was digging through an old stack of Blade magazines. Saw an article about flying with knives. I'm pretty damn sure 0% of that advice is still relevant today.

Introduction
I guess a brief description is in order. I'm a thoughtful, patient/stubborn and articulate person. You'll never have to earn my respect, but it can take a long time to earn my trust. I value good manners for the simple reason that they are what allow large numbers of people to live together as a civilization and not a mob. And lastly, though I am not a religious person, this statement has always made sense to me. "Do unto others as you would have done to you."
Bragging rights
Not much of a bragger."Walk softly and carry a big stick" always seemed a better philosophy to me.
