Cafe Negril is located on world famous Frenchmen Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. Locals and tourist alike come for live music, dancing, drinks, tacos, burritos and pizza.

Cafe Negril has been on Frenchmen Street long before Frenchmen Street was well known around the world. Most of the musicians and bands that play at Cafe Negril have been here for many years and “got their start” on our humble stage. The selection of music is as eclectic as the people we serve. From Reggea to Rock and Roll the bands will get keep you on the dance floor begging for more!

Nice local place that takes CCs and has food. Food is done by a local business that also has a food truck (Reuben's Taco Truck). Really good food! Fish tacos were excellent! Also serves pizza.

Soul Project NOLA, the preferred Frenchmen Street Funk House Band plays here Uniquely New Orleans experience. You have no idea what kind of amazing energy builds up through the music in here until you have experienced it. The place has just been improved for better acoustics and new tile has been installed. Makes the whole venue look "cleaner" but this place just can't loose its Funk :P They now have fish and shrimp tacos ;) Soul Music

I had one beer and a red bull. The bartender charged me $28. He added on all these things I didn't drink, and just said "yeah you did." I have a lot of friends in new Orleans, and I'm gonna make damn sure this pathetic excuse for a bar loses business.

Another chill awesome place on Frenchmen street! We only got a drink and a beer but the bartender was nice. They have a grill or something that sells tacos to the right. The music, even on a Monday night was awesome!!

So this was one of the first few spots which I ventured into on Frenchman St neighborhood. This area is supposed to be very famous with locals and is not touristy and crazy as bourbon street. On Thursday the live band was a reggae band, I was really excited to see one place with live reggae band as most of the other places in Nola are jazz based. This spot is not huge but has decent space to dance and the band stage is very spacious. The band was very nice and made sure to involve audience, they played some really cool reggae tracks. The other best part of this place apart from good music, vibe is the Mexican food which they serve here. There is small food counter and some tables in the back. I had the pineapple pork quesadillas and they were so tasty. I would definitely recommend Cafe Negril when bar hopping on Frenchman.
