Some great service, wonderful varied appetizers and flights of wine give couples a great experience of tasting a variety of foods while sampling wines in a comfortable atmosphere. I highly recommend doing early lunch on Sunday as they open at 11am. Given the focus on wine (and that you're in blue-law Indiana), people don't seem to realize that the location is open or viable. Order 3 appetizers with your significant other and a couple of glasses of wine then focus on enjoying the atmosphere and each other without distraction.

This is the ONLY place in Indianapolis where my wife and I received service that made us WANT to return. We had so many bad experiences from places in Indiana, and Cooper's Hawk made us feel like valued customers. We received top notch service from Terry, and it was her alone that made us want to return. The food was Excellent, and when we did have an issue or two the first time, we immediately felt taken care of and valued, and the business expressed they wanted us to return. The wine is fantastic, but you need an open mind, as some of the things you think you like or are used to don't taste the same way when they bottle it. They will let you sample different things though before buying a bottle to settle on what suits you for your meal. The Ice Wine is fantastic too! Highly recommend the Filet Mignon, green beans, and the Betty's Potatoes. Excellent!

My husband and I went there for date night. I tried something new and didn't like how the meat was cooked. The waitress took the meet back and the chef stated that's how they cook it cooked (wasn't rude, just matter of fact). They asked if I wanted another protein but I didn't. I had the taste for something and I tried it and didn't like it after that I didn't want anything else. The manager came out and said we will take care of this for you because you didn't eat it. They took care of my $6.50 wine and Made me pay for the $21.99 dish that I wasn't pleased with nor did I eat it. From this experience alone I will not return. I was apart of the wine club and had wine parties just for fun. Now I have to find a new Winery to supply my wine as I will not return to a place with poor business ethic.

This is not for the wine enthusiast! If sommelier, Napa, or Bordeaux are a snippet of your vocabulary, then move on. Play it safe in the wine department and make a stop at the top steak houses instead. Two words for the wine: Table wine. The food is average. I had the surf n turf with beef medalions ( medium rare, juicy, perfect), salmon (very dry, seemed over cooked), roses potatoes, and carrots. Prices are in line with all that is offered. We spent $95 for two. Great stop if you are new to wine and are interested in learning about wines, and how to taste. But sadly, only one variety is actually barreled ( reserve blend ). Not sure if its aged at all. It tasted hollow, lacks distinction, no fruit, no spice, tart mostly. Coopers Hawk is a great idea, the offerings are fair priced, the food is average, but the wine offerings are amateur at best. Good wines are usually aged in oak barrels and dont have to be expensive. Coopers Hawk could make good wine, I would even pay more for it.

This is our anniversary place. The wines are overall tasty with a good variety and I've never been disappointed by the entrees. The bread they serve is a delicious pretzel loaf and they have an excellent gluten-free menu.

We had a terrific first experience having dinner at Cooper's Hawk. We even experienced a couple of issues, but the way they were handled still led to an overall very positive experience. Our server, Terry, was terrific! We will absolutely ask for her when we return. We enjoyed a bottle of their Suavignon Blanc. One of the things we really appreciated was being able to sample a few different wines before committing to the bottle. We also ordered the cheese plate as an appetizer. We each had a steak, and between us also tried the parmesan fries with aoili, betty's potatoes, and green beans. Everything was delicious! This was one of the best meals and some of the best service we have experienced in Indianapolis in the last year and a half we have lived here!

I've been eating lunch here a couple times a month for a few years and I was quite happy until this week. I was told they have a new policy; a salad can not be substituted for any of the sides. I always enjoyed a small chopped wedge with my entree and now my only option is to order a full salad. which is basically another entree. I already take half of my chicken picatta home so that is not an option. I don't see why a small chopped wedge (even a fourth of the size of the original) can't be offered with entrees. Two entrees is too much; I think most people like the option of a little salad. I think my lunch visits will come to a screeching halt.
