There is a big difference in the tone of the two trailers. I'm more intrigued after seeing the Japanese trailer
 
Wow! I had to go back and watch the American version again because this is nothing like what I remembered of the story. It's incredibly shocking that they're for the same movie! I was more surprised to discover that the Japanese version wasn't totally mistaken either (as I've seen some Chinese movies do with really poor translations) but instead just chose to focus on different aspects of the story. Wow.
