Final episode of Series 1 of +14 Minutes of SaaS. I had the pleasure of chatting with an admirable and affable tech wizard in Adi Azaria Co-founder and Chief Evangelist/Growth Hacker at +Sisense. His company has raised $97M for its business analytics solution. Adi is largely self-taught in the software world and his defining quality is his penchant for solving problems – whether it’s simplifying the pain of data consumption, tackling kid’s cancer in the US, or successfully engineering a solution for his own son’s sleeplessness. Rather like +LaunchDarkly's Edith Harbaugh, Adi finds that your best ideas come when you are in a relaxed state of mind – whether mediating, walk, painting or doing sports. And like +Algolia’s Nicolas Dessaigne he focuses on the link between company culture and hiring and retaining great people. “I love people more than computers. I love the relationship between them, but I love people more.” +Battery Ventures +DFJ Venture Capital +Bessemer VenturePR +Opus Capital +RTP Ventures +Eli Farkash +Daniel Laury

“Mobile is rewiring our brain. All of that is going to get fundamentally remade through what we call conversational interfaces.” Ron Palmeri, Founder & CEO of Layer and Founder of Prism on the +14 Minutes of SaaS podcast at the +Web Summit. Layer raised $30M in 5 years for its toolkit for building better conversations through messaging. Prism has raised $24M in less than 7 years to bring physical spaces online – it’s a video intelligence platform that transforms security cameras into data sources for business analytics. Like +Algolia's Nicolas Dessaigne, Ron is excited about the evolution of conversational interfaces. +Hunter Walk +Salesforce Ventures, +Dream Incubator, +John Maeda, +Brendan Wales, +Jesse Robbins, +Intel Capital, +Andreessen Horowitz, +Marc Andreessen +Brad Garlinghouse +Yuri Milner, +David Ulevitch, +Aaron Patzer, +Sonja Perkins, +Sam Brandt +mark terbeek, +Meredith Finn, +Klemen Verdnik, +Joshua Perkins, +Hideaki Ono, +jeremy wyld, +Phoebe de Hoog, +Gordon Rubenstein, +Bloomberg Beta, +Microsoft Ventures, +Justin Hughes

Podcast interview with +Eilon Reshef Co-founder and CTO at Gong.io (San Mateo and Isreal). Eilon talked with +Stephen Cummins at +Web Summit about his conversational intelligence platform for helping sales teams converse more effectively. Gong has raised $26 million in investment in just 3 years. It's the outright leader in the sales coaching & on-boarding category on +G2 Crowd. Eilon’s favourite pastime is reading scientific papers and he’s keenly interested in artificial intelligence and data ownership. He also reflects on whether giants like +Facebook +Google and +Amazon.com will give us back ownership of our personal data: “I can’t recall a King who suddenly decided he doesn’t want to be a King anymore …. Kings are gonna take as much tax as they can and these guys are gonna take as much of our privacy as they can.” Listen and learn in a bite-sized 14 Minutes, less than 1% of 1 day of your week. #14MinutesOfSaaS #14Minutes #SaaS #podcast #tech #AI #CRM #Sales +Daryl Lu +Jameson Yung +Chris Orlob +Shlomo Kramer +Sean Zinsmeister +Jacob Eckel +Eran Aloni +nadia medvedovsky +Haim Erez +Shany Tzabari +tal fishler +Ran Ruder +Amit Erental +Jonathan Yaari +Moshe Zilberstein +Chanie Wiesenberg +Eran Marom +Mirela Sava +NextWorld Capital +Norwest Venture Partners (NVP) +Nancy Nardin

+Edith Harbaugh, CEO and co-founder of +LaunchDarkly, adores software so much that she’s helped build a platform that helps other companies build better software. She also writes, codes, podcasts, runs ultra-marathons and mentors startups. All this while running a Silicon Valley star scale-up. Her company is less than 4 years old and has already raised $32 million. As with some of our previously interviewed founders from companies like Branch and Algolia, LaunchDarkly can’t follow the traditional Salesforce B2B SaaS playbook to scale. The sales cycle involves high-touch interaction with techies and product managers. Edith gets ideas while she runs distances up to 100 miles. “When you’re outside your mind starts to make connections because you’re not staring at a screen.” Edith spoke with +AppSelekt's +Stephen Cummins on 14 Minutes of SaaS at the +Web Summit. #14MinutesOfSaaS #14Minutes #SaaS. +Russ Thau +Josh Stein +Guy Antilla +Andy McLoughlin +Jonathan Heiliger +Adam Zimman +Jonathan Nolen +Heidi Waterhouse +Lev Lazinskiy +Sarah Lessner +Melissa Patenaude +Andrea Echstenkamper +Arnold Trakhtenberg +Zuhaib Siddique +Tyler Zick

Nicolas is quietly spoken and cares deeply about empathy, transparency and the culture of his company. He separates family and company time very successfully. He is also deeply focused on owning a huge chunk of the search technology business - +Algolia empower companies to make their products much more searchable - they provide the building blocks for a more authentic search experience - something impossible with off the shelf google technology. Nicolas also has an eye firmly fixed in the future and it will not be a surprise if Algolia, a company that has raised over $74 in just over 5 years, someday makes a big move in the conversational interface space ....
Episode 2 of podcast series #14MinutesofSaaS: Nicolas Dessaigne, CEO and co-founder of hyper-growth #Algolia, tells how his company produces more authentic search than #Google and discusses the dawn of the conversational interface. https://www.appselekt.com/podcasts-old/14-minutes-of-saas-nicolas-dessaigne-algolia#SaaS #14MinutesOfSaaS #PaaS #SearchAsAService +Algolia +Stephen Cummins +jyoti bansal +Clark Valberg +Anshu Sharma +500 Startups +YC +Index Ventures

the future of App Procurement is the #G2Crowd model
Congrats to +Godard Abel +Tim Handorf +Matt Gorniak and fellow founders and team in G2Crowd. $30M to add to rapid revenue growth will put the frighteners on traditional analysts. "Many have said smart procurement can’t be resolved with software, but G2Crowd is now well positioned to be the pioneering vector through which software will eat that particular morsel of our experience .... This model encourages software entities to make better products and to keep their ears free of wax. This is as it should be. .... The One-Eyed Analyst has to evolve into something else or die raging against the light. Buyer beware of the change in motion. Opinions are cheaply held, but expensively given. And tis far better to part with dubious convention than valuable currency. Embrace companies that not only love problems, but love solving them with validated, crowd-sourced data." +Accel +G2 Crowd +LinkedIn

Look #ServiceMax, FieldAware, Microsoft and Oracle! No Beta! #Salesforce releases Pilotless Field Service. Salesforce takes on #ServiceMax, #FieldAware #Microsoft, #Oracle et al. with new Field Service product. “The no pilot or beta was a big surprise to me. But the growth in the subscription model across all sorts of industries (HVAC companies offering cold air as a service, for example) dramatically elevates the importance of field service in the #B2B world, and the explosion of home automation and ‘smart’ appliances does the same for the #B2C realm,”Ian Jacobs. +Salesforce Dublin +Microsoft Corporation +Oracle Technology Insider

"Running a group like a magazine can turn it into a growth machine. #Crowdsourcing noise is pointless. Allowing everybody to be ‘part of the conversation’ in a large group is not always smart, and sometimes ridiculous. Your group should be as unique and authentic as your fingerprint. That’s rare. That’s valuable. That's attractive. There’s a sea of continuous social noise criss-crossed by a mesh of tunnel-vision marketing departments." #Publishing #SocialMediaMarketing #SocialMedia #LinkedIn #Salesforce #GrowthHacking
How the #Salesforce .com #LinkedIn group was grown 60% in 19 months. Limit the so-called 'conversation'. #Crowdsourcing noise is pointless. A group should be as unique and authentic as your fingerprint. Superb sites like +siliconrepublic and the #NewYorker teach us more than the vast majority of current LinkedIn groups. #SocialMediaManagement #Publishing #GrowthHacking
