+Maya Jane Coles  has taken dance music by storm. With her album “Comfort” topping the charts with the wide and eclectic selection of artists that have lent their talent in putting the album together, it comes as no surprise that she’s made her mark in the industry and is currently one of the most sought after producers.

‘Watcher’, which was released in 2012 under the Imprint, is melodic, encompassing some beautiful piano like samples and a lazy groove that showcases the essence of MJC’s style and production capabilities. Following the early success of this track, Dogmatik released new remixes with the likes of Burnski aka UK’s James Burnham and two from the likes of Vakula.

+Moby  has referred to Hotel as his least favorite album, but the bonus disk contained something far more special. The album was rare. So rare, that not even Moby himself had the original copy. Hotel: Ambient is a weird blip in Moby’s discography, and without fan persistence, would have been lost forever.

The 14-track album revisits the original, with a few extra tracks thrown in for good measure. It will take three songs to get you hooked to the album, and eventually your mind will begin to drift. The album opens with ‘Swear’, a beautiful track with a light piano rift. ‘Swear’ segues perfectly into ‘Snowball’ which has an almost extra terrestrial type feel, giving the auditory illusion of floating through space. ‘Blue Paper’ completes the first three tracks on the album, by tying it together with light piano and liquid sounds. From there, you begin to drift into an adventure. The music, like most ambient music, is euphoric and takes you to another dimension.

In today’s digital age it has become increasingly important for fledgling artists to manage their own social media platforms, on top of creating music. With the internet comes a stack of social media platforms all claiming to be the next best thing since sliced bread, it is down to you as an artist to decide which platforms are best for you.

In this article I will give you advice on how to go about choosing the right platforms. I won’t tell you the specific platforms you should be using, it will depend on your own individual aims and objectives which platforms you decide to use.

Those who know their house music history will certainly have listened to 70’s funk. How exactly do you incorporate those sounds into your production?

I listen to a lot of 70’s and funk music and love all the funky elements in the tracks like the guitars or a good old rhode. If a track has a groove then it makes me smile and have fun which is an important thing during a studio session. We have a lot of emotional and sad tracks out there and they’re not my cup of tea.

You mentioned in an earlier interview with DMC World that you use analogue synths such as the Juno 106 or Moog Minitaur. Are there any other synths you frequently use, particularly live?

Actually I play just DJ sets but maybe next year I will start a live setup. I have a lot of Ideas and small tools for playing live. During my studio sessions I love to work with a vast amount plugins. For me it’s important to get my ideas down as soon as possible. I hate to work weeks on one track but from time to time I get the flow and play a bit with my analog tools.

On Wednesday of the 2014 Burning Man experience, Robot Heart hosted a sunset yoga session with Elana Brower. Robot Heart is arguably one of the most famous collectives on the playa during Burning Man, hosting multiple events throughout the Burn. Above and beyond created a beautifully crafted instrumental playlist that helped kiss goodbye to the afternoon sun, and invite the evening chill with open hearts and palms.

‘Fox Tales’ is well above par and comes fastidiously crafted. Amalgamating an impressive exhibition of jubilant beats and fizzing textures, it pirouettes weightlessly around a tantalizing melody. You cannot help but applaud the ingenuity of it, it’s completely out there when it comes to innovative imagination and fascination. The next two tracks ‘Antares’ and ‘Mechanica’ are also worthy of mention. While each production is comprehensively different, they’re also equally infectious. ‘Antares’ constitutes a pivoting bass and a dramatic glitching hook, while ‘Mechanica’ comprises flexing percussions, well-balanced tones and a burlesque flow.

Yup, the infamous two day event (held in the WAMU Theater) was supposed to happen both Friday October 31st, and Saturday November 1st but the Saturday event was cancelled because a 20-year-old participant overdosed on a drug called, Molly. 16 more people were transported to the hospital on that Friday night and six were seriously ill with the same drug.
