Hi, everyone.

Could someone help me understand some (to me) confusing syntax? I started looking into SQLAlchemy, and following the tutorial on http://docs.sqlalchemy.org/en/rel_0_9/orm/tutorial.html I found the following:

{code}
from sqlalchemy.ext.declarative import declarative_base
from sqlalchemy import Column, Integer, String

Base = declarative_base()
class User(Base):
    ...
{code}

I am puzzled by the 'class User(Base)' syntax. I am familiar with the 'class ExtClass(ParentClass)' construct, but here Base is an instance of a class. How exactly does this work?

Thanks.
