A great gallery with wonderful exhibits and admission to the gallery is free. The relocation of Francis Bacon's studio from London after his death using archaeological practices to catalogue the precise location of the thousands of items is an interesting aspect of the Hugh Lane Gallery and an unusual sight. The varied artworks include many by Irish artists, not so well known and some by well-known French impressionist painters such as Renoir, Manet and Pissarro. Don't forget, like many galleries and museums the Hugh Lane is closed on Mondays.

A great number of paintings in a small museum, including some little-known works by some largely-known painters. Mostly Irish and French painters. Very little sculpture.

Empty bare walls in half of Claremont House and its not only Barbara Dawsons fault as its been like this since it was opened after renovations. Get the artwork out of storage and fill those walls.

A LITTLE CONFUSION WITH THE TIME THEY CLOSE BUT THE STAFF ARE LOVELY AND THE MUSEUM IS REALLY GOOD AND WORTH A FEW HOURS OF ANYONES TIME. THE AREA NEEDS A ROAD SWEEPER THOUGH AS IT IS A MESS WITH LITTER.
