It may be two thousand years old but the Colosseum is still the symbol of the eternal city, every year drawing thousands of visitors, meaning long queues and an endless wait.

Must see. Pre-book and get here early (before 9am) to avoid queues. There is also a tour of the underground and 3rd ring. I really want to do this, but you need to either book way ahead or pay through the nose to 3rd party companies who have already bought the tickets!

Loved getting to visit the Colosseum and see first hand what the history books have shown me for years. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed by how much of a tourist trap it's become. There are vendors constantly swarming the exits looking to sell you things. 5 stars for the Colosseum itself, 3 stars for the management.

We booked tickets the evening before we decided to visit the Colosseum online from; what a time saver. When we arrived around 11am, the queues were long and slow - we skipped them and went straight in by showing our email confirmation at the reservations desk. I highly recommend you do this, if not to avoid the queue, then to avoid being harrassed by the street sellers! The Colosseum is everything you'd hope for, and more. Make sure you walk down the Via Dei Fori Imperali - the first glimpse you get of the Colosseum is pretty special. We spent two hours walking around and taking the sights you're afforded from the different levels and we could've stayed for longer! At €14 a ticket, it's the best historic sight you could ever wish to visit.

It's awesome!! I imagine this place full of people and I go back in time immediately. This is the most important place of the biggest empire ever been. The Colosseum is one of the seven wonders of the world and it really worth it. There are always tons of people and you can get lost in the queue but it absolutely worth it! If you visit Rome, you would be here for sure.

Simply AMAZING! When you think of Rome this is one of the 1st places that comes to mind. The Colosseum is unbelievable, even while undergoing renovations. Having the chance to stand inside of this place, picturing the past, learning that it has been over 1500 years since its last gladiator event and yet it is still standing.

Yes it is a bit of a tourist trap but you cannot go to Rome without visiting the Coloseum. It is so incredible to walk through a structure that was built nearly 2000 years ago and to learn the history while standing right there. I suggest a skip the line guided tour with a reputable company, it's worth it.

While it might seem sketchy, get one of the ten euro tours when someone approaches you outside the colosseum. It was worth it and I learned more about the forum than I would've on my own. Also worth it to go during the day and then go back at night to see it lit up. Note: the skip the line line was longer than the buy tickets there line!

Colosseum hasn't shared anything with you.

People are more likely to share with you if you add them to your circles.
