It may be two thousand years old but the Colosseum is still the symbol of the eternal city, every year drawing thousands of visitors, meaning long queues and an endless wait.

It's awesome!! I imagine this place full of people and I go back in time immediately. This is the most important place of the biggest empire ever been. The Colosseum is one of the seven wonders of the world and it really worth it. There are always tons of people and you can get lost in the queue but it absolutely worth it! If you visit Rome, you would be here for sure.

Loved getting to visit the Colosseum and see first hand what the history books have shown me for years. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed by how much of a tourist trap it's become. There are vendors constantly swarming the exits looking to sell you things. 5 stars for the Colosseum itself, 3 stars for the management.

We booked tickets the evening before we decided to visit the Colosseum online from; what a time saver. When we arrived around 11am, the queues were long and slow - we skipped them and went straight in by showing our email confirmation at the reservations desk. I highly recommend you do this, if not to avoid the queue, then to avoid being harrassed by the street sellers! The Colosseum is everything you'd hope for, and more. Make sure you walk down the Via Dei Fori Imperali - the first glimpse you get of the Colosseum is pretty special. We spent two hours walking around and taking the sights you're afforded from the different levels and we could've stayed for longer! At €14 a ticket, it's the best historic sight you could ever wish to visit.

A few minutes after joining the ticket queue, a Colosseum official announced that English-language tours were available for a small fee. Taking him up on the offer, we got to skip to the front of the queue. We purchased entry-plus-tour tickets directly from the ticket window and then waited a few minutes for the tour to begin. The guide was knowledgeable and a good story-teller, transforming the site from a set of interesting ruins to a living, breathing place. After the tour, we were set free to explore on our own.

I'll never forget driving past the Colosseum for the first time as it just seemed to suddenly appear amongst the more modern buildings of Roma. It was pretty breathtaking. We bought our tickets in advance, which I highly recommend, you will avoid long lines. We just bought the most basic ticket, which did not include any kind of tour and only allowed access to some areas of the Colosseum. As a former History teacher, I already knew a great deal about the history of city and this monument in particular so I content without the tour. However, if I go back to Roma someday I think I would spend a little extra to take a guided tour and have access to all areas of the Colosseum.

Simply AMAZING! When you think of Rome this is one of the 1st places that comes to mind. The Colosseum is unbelievable, even while undergoing renovations. Having the chance to stand inside of this place, picturing the past, learning that it has been over 1500 years since its last gladiator event and yet it is still standing.

Regal and majestic as ever, this monument is preserved in time. Step into the Colosseum and experience the strength and courage of the Roman Empire at its glory. An amazing awe-inspiring experience.

A unique place in the world. History surrounds you in all of Rome but this is something else. Incredible. Keep in mind of the events which happened in the colosseum or do sme research beforehand and this place would be a hundred times better than just impressive ruins. Go later in the day to avoid the long queues and the crowds.

Colosseum hasn't shared anything with you.

People are more likely to share with you if you add them to your circles.
