I have recently enrolled both my kids at champions kempo south. At first just my youngest son wanted to sign up. But as they give a month free that's right a whole month free I told my older son just give it try and see what you think. He has high functioning autism and can be shut off to everything at times. And to my surprise both of them love it here. All I here now is can we please go to another class. The instructors are very friendly and professional. I like how they walk around and help all the students and do not make them feel inadequate at any time. They always seem to be having fun and are very patient with the kids. But do not let them get away with goofing off or going to far either. The discipline is great and reasonable not over board as I have heard stories from other schools. I would recommend if you have young ones that want to learn take them here you will not be disappointed.

Have you ever been so impressed by something it made you speechless? That's how I feel with Champions Karate on 8th street south. Our son was diagnosed with ADD two years ago. We have been doing all natural methods to avoid any medications. Which has worked okay but as our son is getting older, the natural methods are not working so well anymore. We took our son to the doctor again back in January of this year (2014). He said his son has ADHD and they had read many times how karate builds self confidence, practices self control and is great for help children to learn to focus. Before we found Champions, we visited two other local Karate classes. The first one upon 2 seconds after walking in, we witnessed the owner pushing a boy to the ground to do push ups because he walked on the mat with his shoes. I am all about following rules but it is NEVER okay to lay a hand on a child. I can assure Master Todd would never ever ever do that. The second one we visited told us to pay for all supplies and for the month upfront prior to the class starting. Hmmm, didn't happen! They are all about the money. Of course this sounded , so we went to Champions karate to check them out. First week was free, which I think is very generous! Since January of 2014, this is what I have personally experienced! Our sons focus has on went from (on a scale of 1 to 5). Our child has went from a 2 to a 5 in about 2 months. The teachers are amazed! But wait.....that's not all, our son has much more self confidence, which has flowed over into other aspects of his life. Focus has never been better! Again, we have been there for going on months 8 now. I sit through EVERY class and observe. Master Todd and his team are great with kids as well as adults. They demonstrate every move so that it is very easy to understand. Master Todd and his team go around the room to ensure everyone is getting the move correctly. Here is another great thing. If for some reason someone is not quite getting it, Master Todd and/or his team with kindness will explain it to that person and help them get it right. No one is EVER singled out in a demeaning way. With a few days we visited Champions Karate. It was like a breathe of fresh air. Our son was introduced to kids his age, welcomed with open arms and no money needed until you have your week free trial to make sure it is a good fit for you. What more can you ask for? By the way, we signed up before the free week was up. We just loved it from the get go! We could not be more pleased! I am so thankful that we found Master Todd and his team, without them I would still be searching for answers, possibly medicating my child and not seeing him reach his goals. One last note, they do everything in partners. Always someone your own size and you get to chose your own partner. Thank you so much Master Todd and Sensei Ashley, you are truly a blessing to our family.

Family Friendly, Community Oriented, Financially Feesiable!!!! Its a delight to be apart of this growing group. THEY CARE about your family, your situation (if you care to share), your privacy. They know almost every individual by name and their different demeanors. Your not just another body in the class. We have only been a part of this family since Feb of 2013 but they are a family away from home and we delight in helping our community, wether through food bank, blood bank, or monetary fundraisers, and I'm happy to say I've been a part of it all. My favorite part is I can afford to take all 3 of my boys without breaking the bank...Hard to do in this town!!

My wife signed our family up at Champions South, and at first I was not sure I could participate due to my demanding work schedule. After she and our six-year-old son attended a week of classes without me, and hearing both of them rave about Master Todd, Sensei Brad and Sensei Ashley, I decided I had better go with them to see Champions for myself. Now, after two months of basic martial arts training, I could not be more positive about the experience. Most importantly, because we joined for the benefit of our son, I really appreciate how the senseis work with the younger children, requiring respect and discipline in addition to correct form. And needing to use my limited free time effectively, I value how each 40-minute session is a solid workout and the way each sensei connects with their students on an individual basis during class. In addition to training sessions, Champions has conducted free seminars for children (stranger danger) and adults (Krav Maga) on the weekends. Another benefit is the friendships I and my family have developed with other people in the class, as well as the instructors. Needless to say, our family is excited about continuing to study martial arts at Champions South!

We are extremely pleased with the martial arts instruction we are getting at Champions Martial Arts. Master Todd is the most effective martial instructor I have met, and he is a very nice guy who enjoys to teach and to see his students learn new skills. Very family friendly place. All our 7 kids are enjoying the follow-up they receive at Champtions Martial Arts from Master Todd and the other instructors. I highly recommend this place.

I have been going to Champions South for the past two years and I love it! It is close to my house and offers great classes for the whole family. Going a few times a month has helped me a lot. As a woman I take personal safety very serious and Champions South offers different classes to help women protect themselves. Thanks to the team at Champions South!

My family started at Champions South close to a year ago. Master Todd, Sensei Brad and Sensei Ashley are wonderful instructors. My husband attends with my two boys and they have excelled to yellow belt and are currently working towards their orange belt this fall. What I am very pleased about is that they do not teach or push any religious philosophy. Many other companies in town do. The children are taught to respect and they help the kids build good character traits. The instructors are firm but caring at the same time. My children are being taught self defense and martial arts. The instructors create real life scenarios of encounters with people who may try to hurt them and instruct them with moves to help them escape or attract someones attention. The classes are mixed with adults and children both male and female. My family attends 2 to 3 times a week. They also have many other classes. Their prices are very reasonable. Some may think 40 minutes is not very long for a class but I assure you that you or your child will get a thorough workout. The facility is kept very clean. I would highly recommend Champions to anyone.

Six years ago my son and I chose Champion's Mixed Martial Arts to learn Karate together. It has been a fun and challenging program. The great part about Champions is their wide training program. The Karate program incorporates traditional styles, jujitsu, judo, ground fighting, krav maga, and weapons training for higher belts. If you want to focus your training, there are classes dedicated to each of these. If you are just looking for cardio training, they have that too, and all under a flat monthly fee (with exception of the weapons class - $10 extra). I would highly recommend Champions to anyone looking for family or individual tools to get in shape, or interested in learning martial arts, or both.
