#WiggleitWednesday Get your dancin' shoes on!

I've got to kick some goals today. Got a mammoth blog post coming, and two video scripts to finish. I find some music really kicks my motivation up a notch, but sometimes it is really just too distracting and it takes up all my brain power to block it out so I can think.

Do you like working with music? Or not?
What are you working on?

#Content #Strategy #Honesty
What are your plans this week?
If you're anything like me, 99% of your energy goes into helping your clients, leaving just 1% of your energy to work on your own business.

And for me this means that my own content strategy has been half developed, and only half implemented. It's not cutting the mustard. So I've dedicated some of my precious R&R time to fleshing out my strategy, and since i know many creatives and small brands struggle to figure this out (or get time to implement it on their own) here's the top 3 things you should start with.

1. Before you begin, understand your goals
Do you want to build traffic, increase engagement, community, brand awareness, or more leads? What you create will align with these goals, but also gives you a guide on what metrics are important.

2. Know thy customer and listen to what they need
Feelin like you're talking to an empty room? You can't always expect your customers to come to you. Find out where they're hanging online and go talk to them to find out what they need.

3. Know thy competitors
What's working well for your competitors, what topics are they covering? Can you go deeper with your content? How can you make this content shine (in a way that they aren't)?

What about you? Have you developed your social content strategy, or is it on that long to do list?

#ANZAC2018 When most think of ANZAC day, they think of the men that fought valiantly, and returned from the trauma after WWI and WWII. They think of their grandfathers, and uncles and fathers. And although it's still important to remember them, and recognise what they sacrificed for us and for others, we must also remember that there are still young men and women returning from service who have fought just as hard.

Lest We Forget.
Today we remember all those who have served; men, women, young, old, past and present.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

#Grammar #niggles
Everyone has those little grammar niggles that trip them up sometimes.
For me, I always second guess my choice of word when it comes to whose vs who's.

Do you have any word or grammar rule that trips you up?

#Nervous #Excited #NDIS
My brother has his Planning Meeting with the NDIA tomorrow and now it's time for me to apply all the advice I've given on this blog over the last 9 months to my own family.

We feel prepared. We have all his information, know all our rights and responsibilities but the decisions that come out of this meeting tomorrow will affect my brother's quality of life over the next year.
Wish us luck!!

If you're in the Queensland region and know someone who is entering into the NDIS as it rolls out - have a read through this blog and check out some of the others there.

I've been (trying) to live by this mantra this year. Too often I open an email and think, 'I'll respond to that later,' and then it gets buried in other tasks and I don't get back to it.

Too often I think 'I'll finish my blog or schedule my own content once I've finished with this one for my client,' but then the end of the day rolls around and I don't get there because I'm exhausted.

Too often I think, 'I'll pay this bill closer to the due date because it's not due yet,' but then I put it off and forget about it.

Enough! Touch it once is about getting that task done the first time you touch it, not putting it off. How do you manage these tasks?

I'm interested to know how many self-employed people put anything away for their super? I know it's something I've neglected.
Have you heard of GigSuper? http://ow.ly/axUq30jhme0

Hoppy Easter Every Bunny! (couldn't resist)
I hope you have a fab weekend full of warm hugs, laughs (not too much chocolate) and good books. What are you reading right now?
I'm reading The Southern Reach Trilogy by Jeff VanderMeer and I really respect his storytelling skills

There's less than a handful of tickets left for this amazing conference - and it's full of the most talented and wonderful humans you'll ever meet in copywriting.

Book your tickety-ticket now, or share with a friend who might want to go.
