Born and raised in Central NJ just 20 minutes from Rutgers, it’s a miracle Sean Keeley never became a Scarlet Knight fan. Then again, no one in New Jersey even began rooting for Rutgers until 2004 so it’s a moot point.
Sean graduated Syracuse in 2000 with a double major in Marketing & Entrepreneurship and if there’s any advice he can give, it is…don’t do that. Major in something creative.
The best Syracuse-related sports moments of his time at SU are storming the field after the ’98 Virginia Tech win, storming the court after beating Georgetown and awkwardly making eye contact with Donovan McNabb one time on the South Campus shuttle.
After college he worked in NYC for a couple years then moved out to LA, where he started the blog Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician. It has since become the No. 1 independent Syracuse blog, reaching over 400K unique visitors a month.
In 2010, Sean released the book, “How To Grow An Orange: The Right Way To Brianwash Your Child Into Becoming A Syracuse Fan.” The book has been a hit with SU fans, students and alumni and is currently available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, the SU Bookstore and other online retailers.
Sean is also an editor for sports site SBNation.com and community blog FremontUniverse.com. His writing has been featured on sites such as ESPN.com, Deadspin.com, CBSSports.com, FoxSports.com, Syracuse.com and CNYCentral.com.
He is a frequent guest on multiple radio programs including On The Block (The Score 1260), Matt Mc’s Sports Fix (WNER 1410) and Disturbing The Peace (CNY ESPN).
Sean has written five screenplays, two of which have been optioned. He is currently working on his first stageplay.
Sean currently lives in Seattle with his wife, Lucy, who does not care about Syracuse sports.
