Has anyone asked you lately – are you OK? You look tired… BUT you feel fine?! This is the classic question for the patient who is nearing the time for eyelid surgery.

Eyelid surgery will freshen up the eye area, making you appear more rested, alert and even happy! And believe me, you will be HAPPY with how you look after this surgery.

The procedure can be done on just the upper eyelids or both the upper and lower. Many patients have the upper eyelids procedure done under a minimal anesthesia, allowing them to recuperate faster and get back to work in under a week.

The lower eyelid area is something that needs more medical attention to correctly diagnose the problem-- sometimes it is too much fat, too much skin, and perhaps not enough of either. For this reason, it is imperative to have a consultation with Dr. Berris.

Would you like a $25 Gift Certificate valid on any products or treatments in our office? Call 916-929-6707 to find out how...

Dr. Berris is an expert in eyelid surgery... Here is why.....
After medical school, a budding oculoplastic surgeon undertakes a three year residency in ophthalmology, after which time one or two additional years are spent in fellowship-level training in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. Skills are gained in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions involving the eyelids, tear system, and orbit at one of a very limited number of University programs. Such directed study is far more comprehensive than that obtained during a general plastic surgery residency in which training time must be divided between all the parts of the body and only weeks (rather than years) can be devoted to the eyelids.  There are less than 500 surgeons in the United States who have completed such advanced training.

Summer is almost here! What can you do to protect your skin from premature aging? Without proper protection, like sunscreen and hats, the sun's ultraviolet rays can have damaging effects on the skin -- the most immediate, perhaps, being the dreaded sunburn. A sun burn is damage and ultimately cause death to some of the cells of the epidermis layer of the skin and also bring out hyperpigmentation just after one day of no protection. Be sure you are using your Craig Berris, MD Sunblock SPF 30 along with Colorescience Sunforgettable Sunscreen Powder every day.

With age, weight, or simply genetics, people can develop a collection of fat underneath the chin. Some people call this a “double chin”. Liposuction can remove these fat deposits which diet and exercise have been unable to improve. The procedure itself will take approximately 30 minutes to perform. In addition to removing the fat deposit beneath the chin, additional liposuction is performed in the neck to sculpt and define the jaw line. You will notice an immediate effect upon removal of the elastic garment but will reach their final correction in a few weeks. After discussing your goals and undergoing an exam with Dr. Berris, he will give his opinion regarding whether liposuction alone will be sufficient to reach your goals.
