An old favourite from when I first got my macro tubes. Feels a bit like a stock photo, but whatever!

After a long time away, I thought I'd try to get more active on G+, so here are a few landscape shots I took while my PC was in pieces.

Because a dark morning at the train platform can be quite dull, I thought I'd take advantage of the low light with my phone camera. Was very much a spur of the moment shot, but I may have to do it properly one morning with a tripod and actually compose the shot!

Another one from tonight. I got lazy and DID use photomatix for this, but with 7 shots, it turned out surprisingly clean. I went for a more natural feel than most of my HDR shots, and I'm hoping it isn't too underwhelming. I didn't like the composition too much, hence why I didn't bother doing anything to it.

Trying to make more time for photography in my busy life, and it occurred to me that in all the time I've had a DSLR, I've never made the effort to go shoot a sunset landscape! :O So here's my first attempt.

This was originally 7 bracketed shots, but I didn't want to HDR it, so I took the first normal exposure (exposed for foreground where I focused, thanks to Canon's unique metering system :/ ), and the -3EV shot near the end and just layered them with the gradient tool and a layer mask. I twiddled with them a bit in adobe RAW  first to get the colours right, but there wasn't much work to be done with the exception of trying to remove some flare I didn't spot (always check for flare when you're shooting into the sun. Never trust your hood!). Let me know if you can see it, because I still can, despite my best efforts :( Warmer clothing necessary to prevent rushing (gloves!).

Feedback always very welcome!

Beautiful sky this morning, shame I only had my phone camera on me!

Little horror self portrait I stuck together today. It's fun to try something a bit less straight-faced every now and then ;)
