After a long time away, I thought I'd try to get more active on G+, so here are a few landscape shots I took while my PC was in pieces.

Another one from tonight. I got lazy and DID use photomatix for this, but with 7 shots, it turned out surprisingly clean. I went for a more natural feel than most of my HDR shots, and I'm hoping it isn't too underwhelming. I didn't like the composition too much, hence why I didn't bother doing anything to it.

Beautiful sky this morning, shame I only had my phone camera on me!

An old favourite from when I first got my macro tubes. Feels a bit like a stock photo, but whatever!

Because a dark morning at the train platform can be quite dull, I thought I'd take advantage of the low light with my phone camera. Was very much a spur of the moment shot, but I may have to do it properly one morning with a tripod and actually compose the shot!

Trying to make more time for photography in my busy life, and it occurred to me that in all the time I've had a DSLR, I've never made the effort to go shoot a sunset landscape! :O So here's my first attempt.

This was originally 7 bracketed shots, but I didn't want to HDR it, so I took the first normal exposure (exposed for foreground where I focused, thanks to Canon's unique metering system :/ ), and the -3EV shot near the end and just layered them with the gradient tool and a layer mask. I twiddled with them a bit in adobe RAW  first to get the colours right, but there wasn't much work to be done with the exception of trying to remove some flare I didn't spot (always check for flare when you're shooting into the sun. Never trust your hood!). Let me know if you can see it, because I still can, despite my best efforts :( Warmer clothing necessary to prevent rushing (gloves!).

Feedback always very welcome!

Little horror self portrait I stuck together today. It's fun to try something a bit less straight-faced every now and then ;)

I used to be a regular patron of the bulls head after discovering it on Google. Their steak was amazing, and even their sandwiches were fantastic. It was very reasonably priced too. Sadly the quality of the food has really slipped and my last visit was a real disappointment. If they got back to their previous standards I would have given 5 stars, but 3 is fair for a slightly better than average pub restaurant. Still nice, certainly not a bad place to get a meal, but not as good as it was.

Our local curry house of choice. I've been many a time and always have been happy with the food (not the BEST curry I've ever had, but certainly decent). The service is good, and the value is unbeatable. 4 stars purely because I think the food could be marginally better, but I'm really just being picky. Very good bang for buck. Recommended.

Food was decidedly average. As a passionate fan of the burrito, I was really disappointed by the example they presented to me. The starter plate we had was decent, but the mains lacked in quality. It wasn't really bad food, but I wouldn't go back by choice. Maybe a good place for drinks at the bar though.
