"Excellent food, great location."

We ended up eating here twice in our trip to Hermanus. The menu is a mix of some classics like hamburgers and fish and chips with some more creative dishes like seared tuna on a carrot and ginger puree with wasabi cream. All the dishes were delicious, made fresh and well presented. The seared tuna was being sold as a special with a glass of pongracz for R120 which I thought was excellent value. It was meant to be a starter but I had it as a light lunch with some french fries. The breakfast of eggs benedicte was also delicious. The setting is casual outside, on a first come first serve basis and a bit more formal inside where you can reserve a table. Kids can also go and play on the jungle gym across the road.

"Great, bistro-style meal"

I had a fantastic, hearty meal at Pear Tree. Great food and ambiance. As a local said, "Pear Tree is the best restaurant in Hermanus" and I couldn't agree more
