The Award-Winning Post-Lux Trilogy Book 2 by Konrad Ventana: Literary Fiction for Savvy Postmodern Readers

– The Post-Lux Trilogy by Konrad Ventana has received both Editor’s Choice designation and Rising Star kudos from the publisher. This astonishing series of ultra-contemporary novels is positively Post-Lux—postmodern, post-enlightenment, post-perspicuous gems of literature for the savvy postmodern reader. Each of these three novels examines a vital aspect of creativity and human achievement, rendered accessible through the exalted and protected Art of Literary Fiction. Each book of the trilogy is designed to be separate and distinct—differing in plot/theme, narrative voice, characters, setting, and scope of the high-minded action/adventures.  Each book of the trilogy stands alone as a “good read,” yet together they form an illuminating ensemble for aspiring individuals.

Book 2: “The Unbearable Sadness of Zilch” investigates The Lost Love of the Latest Hollywood Tycoon, revealing the intemperate impulses of the femme fatale, the passions of the movie director, and the allure of the casting couch, while witnessing the fall of an empire that has become devoid of inspiration.  “No one is innocent … not in this town. In this town the apocalypse has come and gone, lifting the veil of innocence like a great velvet curtain in an old movie house, where the only victims that don’t return for the sequel are the gods themselves, struck out long ago by the big blue pencil. In this town, every man, woman, and child takes the limits of his or her own field of vision to be the limits of the world.”

Seeking help from intrepid special operations mercenaries and unorthodox mountaineering guides, the covert rescue mission not only targets the missing, but the meaning of life itself.  “I fear that Joycelyn Eberhard, your Uberjoy, as you call her, may have fallen prey to a monstrous evil that has emerged unheralded, not only in Nepal, but in the entire region. That is, the problem of human trafficking—particularly of girls and young women—to indentured servitude and brothels in India and elsewhere. Each year, from five thousand to seven thousand girls and women are trafficked from Nepal to India alone for the commercial sex trade.”

“Sarcophagus”, a Bold Exposé by Jean-Pierre Chevalier (K.Ventana)

Note: Jean-Pierre Chevalier is a penname for Konrad Ventana

“Sarcophagus,” a revealing novel by Jean-Pierre Chevalier. In this stunning work of contemporary fiction, Chevalier has succeeded in illuminating one of the unspeakable tragedies of our age: the exploitation of illness. Rendering the depravity and misfeasance of our modern-day temples of medicine with scholarly aplomb, the gripping narrative exposed in Sarcophagus chronicles the journey of an inspired physician and an intrepid biophysicist as they strive against all odds to develop the world’s first, and so far only, targeted injectable gene delivery system—the coveted holy grail of genetic medicine.

Set in the Here & Now, a time in history when terminal cancer patients languish on the chain while major medical institutions, academic research centers, and giant pharmaceutical companies struggle in unison against the emerging tide of genetic medicine in a misguided effort to maintain the authority and applications of their loathsome poisonous treatments. Written with the passion of a patient advocate and the omniscience of an astute insider, and set against the bleak and timely backdrop of modern-day clinical pathos, Sarcophagus is a compelling journey of discovery and descent into the netherworld of modern medicine as it stands poised at the threshold of history.

About the Author:

Jean-Pierre Chevalier, a leading authority on genetic medicine, is the consummate “insider,” capable of rendering the tragedies of so-called modern medicine with scholarly aplomb. An accomplished research scientist, whose pioneering work on cellular growth control led to the discovery of several important cancer genes, more effective modes of gene delivery, and new designer medicines, Jean-Pierre Chevalier stands alone as a transpicuous voice crying out in the wilderness, a stalwart social critic, and a patient advocate par excellence. As his life’s work ushers in the genetic medicines of the future, his stories gleam as a treasure for the ages.

Now available in hardcover, softcover, and ebook versions at Amazon and B&N, as well as the publisher's (iUniverse) store.

Rise, Rise, Dark Horses of American Noir by Konrad Ventana

“Rise, Rise, Dark Horses of American Noir," a postmodern #mystery”   by Konrad Ventana evokes the mystery and intrigue that is DNA forensics. “Rise, Rise, Dark Horses of American Noir” has been selected as both an Editor’s Choice for avid readers and the publisher’s Rising Star program, which recognizes excellence in writing and overall potential. In this latest release, author Konrad Ventana plumbs the depths of human depravity with a lyrical intensity that increases with dramatic action and mounting suspense to a fever pitch, vividly revealing the shock and horror of institutionalized crime.

Steeped in the hardboiled old-school police procedurals of bygone times, protagonist Detective Dash Brogan recruits Cornell Westerly, Ph.D., an expert in DNA analysis, to be his apprentice crime scene investigator. Ventana writes from Cornell’s point of view as a young, fresh-out-of-college protégé, who braves the notorious mean streets of the City of Angels in search of redemption, love and forensic truth. In blending the innocence of youth with the verve, grit, and pluck of the classic crime novel author Konrad Ventana evokes the dark horses of Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, Cornel Woolrich, and Mickey Spillane to reveal the nature and extent of an unrecorded crime against humanity.

Now available in hardcover, softcover, and ebook versions at Amazon and B&N, as well as the publisher's (iUniverse) store.
