Update on the proceedings of the Mandala Café project:

Catering Project
The Mandala Kitchens Catering project has begun offering Catering services to provide job opportunities & training for those who may be formerly homeless and/or returning from incarceration.
We have connected with 2 agencies working with those who are formerly homeless: the Interfaith Assembly on Homelessness & Housing and The Life Experience and Faith Sharing Association.
And, we have connected with 3 agencies working with those re-entering the Community after incarceration: The Harlem Justice Corps, The Welcome Home Initiative and Circles of Support.

Meal Offering
The Mandala Kitchens has begun to co-sponsor a weekly meal offering in Central Harlem. Joining the Manhattan Satya Sai Baba Spiritual Center, Mandala Kitchens will be providing simple, vegetarian food for a weekly offering served on W. 116th Street & Adam Clayton Powell Blvd, currently under the scaffolding outside First Corinthians Baptist Church.
We have aligned ourselves with All Souls Episcopal Church in the neighborhood. The Church has agreed to allow us to use their kitchen facilities to cook the food.
At some point in the Fall, we will move the meal inside the Church so that we can continue to serve people during the inclement weather.

Food for Shelters
Working in conjunction with The Interfaith Assembly on Homelessness & Housing, Mandala Kitchens has been asked to create & implement an offering to feed individuals staying in overnight shelters.
We have provided food for the Society of Friends (Quaker) 12-bed shelter which will be our pilot project.
We have received funding from The Dharma Foundation to begin this program.
