Zappa the cat has a penchant for fine glassware, especially those with the purrfect concave made for napping. This beautiful white kitty from the Netherlands discovered her favorite "bed" one time when her humans were preparing salad. "She has unconditional love for her bowl. We don't know w...

Therapy dogs are even used by Olympic athletes! Sometimes a furry friend can be the best way to relieve stress.
Kacey Oberlander is missing her dogs back home, and she's more than a little stressed competing in the high-pressure environment at the U.S. Olympic swimming trials. ''It just calms me down a lot,'' said Oberlander, who swims for York YMCA in Pennsylvania and will be attending the

Take your pet elsewhere! Took my cat in for antibiotics for a swollen foot. After shaving it they found a few cuts, they sent me home with the antibiotics and told me to come back in 3 days. They didn't wrap it or anything. I ended up washing cat litter out of her foot twice. The antibiotics didn't help and it was getting worse so I brought her back early. She had surgery on a Thursday to clean the wounds and sew them shut. I received a call from the Dr. saying that too much of her foot was dead and that they wanted to amputate it! However they couldn't do it until next Wednesday. I decided to take her else where to have the procedure done. After 3 doctors at the second vet looked at her foot they told me there was no way they would cut it off because it was still alive! They unwrapped the bandage and showed me waht Beechmont pet hospital had done, the had cut about half of the skin off of her foot. The second vet said that with antibiotics and regular bandage changes her skin would grow back. She might not have hair but she will still have a foot.

Response from the owner - a week ago
Dear Ms. Jackson, Amputation of your cat's foot was never our preferred course of action, and it was only offered as an option when you declined a prolonged course of repetitive bandage changes to try to save the leg. In all of our discussions, the cat's life and well-being was always our primary concern. We were, however, limited by what you would allow us to do. It is ironic that you chose to pursue our preferred course of treatment with the second vet.

Do not expect any form of communication from the vet. We brought our puppy in on Tuesday when he was showing some scary signs, such as shaking, not being able to walk or control his bladder. We paid $500+ to have tests run to figure out what could be wrong. The doctor said that it could very well be life threatening. We were told they were rushing his tests and we would hear from them that evening or the next day. Fine, I understand these things take time. Thursday evening, still no word, I called and was told that the doctor will review the results tomorrow and call us. It is now Friday evening and I called again. A very apathetic receptionist told me that they had some test results, but were still waiting on the others. I do not understand how you can tell someone that their dog may be dying on Tuesday, and not even make an effort to communicate with them by Friday. This has been a truly disappointing experience. I would not recommend this vet to anyone - you may be better served throwing your money out the window.

Beechmont pet hospital is a location I have never dealt with directly. My grandparents took their pets there often when our aging dachshund began having cancer issues and old age issues. When he unfortunately passed, this location went out of their way to send us a card and flowers even though they weren't the location he was taken to be put to rest. Now... you can't ask for a better group of people who genuinely care than that, and because of that they will always have a spot on the awesome places list of mine.

Our humans have been taking us to Beechmont Pet Hospital since 2000. We overheard them saying it was close to home and was highly recommended by one of their good friends. We've since moved further away but continue to call BPH our "vet" due to the warm, caring, loving, caring, knowledgeable and did I mention CARING staff - from those that greet you when you enter the facility to the vet techs and the vets. Although a few of us get nervous on the ride there and while we're waiting - we have to admit that we've always been treated with love. Our humans recommend them to EVERYONE they know w/pets. Signed w/love, Cleo Hannah (in Heaven), Misty (w/Cleo Hannah), Sam (w/Cleo Hannah and Misty), Max, Izzy and Baxter Reilly
