I will echo others comments in that you did right by us "Runners" by staying non biased as we all know you love Newtons! That said this is what happens when a company tries to be jack of all trades and should rather be a Master of One.. They should really stick to making good road shoes, and not "rush" and develop something so narrow minded and trail specific considering this is what they had in mind (Boulder, CO Running Shoe!?!?!?!). You did well my man!
Dude why are you not officially sponsored? I mean even if you not a sponsored "runner" you still give some real no bull shit reviews and someone out there should/could/need your no shit reviews as an Ambassador at the least.
1.) The terrain is really what will determine ankle roll. Small rocks, fire road, buffed out single-track are no problem. Don't even have to think about it. The second you deal with VERY technical stuff, you need to stay alert. No different then any other shoe.
2.) Saturday long runs are great! Gearing up for Sean O'Brien 50k season opener next saturday :)
whats up with shoes and using fucking pods!!!! sorry for the rant but the F Bomb was totally necessary ha! Great Review, I'm not a Brooks Fan though I don't know why but I just feel ehhhh about them.
BUT!!!! I do like the modest color scheme with this shoe I also been a Grey type of guy with all my items I wear not just shoes. I think the in your face colors today is too much, esp with trail running the dirt hides with grey and other traditional colors better I feel. I know you disagree with that final note.
My last question....what do you do with all these shoes I assume in my imaginative head of mine, that you have this HUGE ASS location with all the shoes you reviewed in some underground warehouse. I don't know how you do it, I have 5 pairs of shoes and I get overwhelmed sometimes with which one to wear for each run...OCD kicks in and I start to freak out and end up spring cleaning my collection so I can't imagine what your doing with all those shoes you have.
I dig the review I was close to buying one but I choose the Petzl Myo RXP LED instead its 89 bucks and 3 settings with the max setting at 140 lumens that last about 54 Hours!!! on 3 AA Batteries... Hellz to the Yeah :)
