Wow! A fabulous review from a brilliant bookseller :)

There is a new YA book due out 1st September by a longstanding friend of mine from Dublin, Peadar O Guilin, we met when his debut The Inferior came out and had immense fun. He returned a few times and even stayed ad hoc with my family due to a diary malfunction. I was lucky enough to be asked to read the ARC of his new book, The Call.
It is astonishingly good, for me as instantly grabbale of the reader as anything that I can recall. I raved about The Hunger Games, ask Sally Nicholls!
I REALLY want to rave about this though, Peadar always has clever ideas, always writes beautifully, but I Hope after we chatted  afew times about his new project tthat he may well have remembered what I said about making it just that bit shorter, more action all the way and kill characters!
He has achieved the almost impossible, a book which you are so easily drawn into the world created, it's real and yet it isn't because it's a Fairy Realm and utterly deadly to all. All children are called, only 10% return alive and all seem changed. He rollicks away with wit and charm in his uncany Irish way with words, feck is now a buzz word again. There is everything in this book and you do not stop reading. a very easy 10/10

Another kind review :)
It's been a day of great news, and, believe it or not, I have yet to get sick of that kind of thing! Some of the information isn't for public consumption, and it may even fall flat on its grinning choppers. But I can share this evening's review of The Call from the very influential…

Story
Tagline
SF writer. Author of The Inferior, The Deserter, and The Volunteer
Introduction
In September 2007, Peadar Ó Guilín published his first novel, The Inferior, which the Times Educational Supplement called "a stark, dark tale, written with great energy and confidence and some arresting reflections on human nature." Foreign editors liked it too, and over the coming year it is to be translated into eight languages, including Japanese and Korean.

His fantasy and SF short stories have appeared in numerous venues, including Black Gate magazine and an anthology celebrating the best of the iconic Weird Tales. He is currently working on a sequel to his first novel, which will be published in early 2011.

Peadar lives in Dublin, where he toils day and night for a giant computer corporation.
