I'm so sad to read the negative reviews because I love Layla! I've been visiting this store since I moved to Brooklyn 3 years ago. Whether I'm shopping for myself of for a gift, I always find something beautiful and unique. The store's aesthetic is so lovely, I wish I could move right in! Layla has its own collection and also carries my favorite brands like Madeleine Weinrib, Les Indiennes and John Robshaw. They keep a lot in the back so if you're looking for something specific it's worth asking.

Everyone in the shop was really sweet and helpful. I love the bedding, beautiful jewelry and clothing. I will definetely go back when I am in NY again.

I have been to this shop a few times, the women especially the owner are rude and snobby...Hellooo? You are in Brooklyn, not the Upper East Side, get over yourself already. I brought my sister in law here while she was in town, we waited 15 minutes at least for someone to show us the towels (which are beautiful colors & patterns but cheaply made, scratchy & non absorbent) and over priced. As we wait, not to mention I am 6 mo. pregnant...the owner acted like we were such a bother. We each had a few items we wanted to purchase only to be scolded "Don't touch" and "Can you ladies please make a decision" -- We literally waited 15-20min & looked maybe for 5 minutes before she was nasty and rude. It was appalling to see how she treated two other older women in the store who obviously had more money or who know maybe they were all best friends compared to her nastiness towards us. Needless to say, we left and didn't purchase a thing. I live down the street and have many friends that would like this store but i refuse to take anyone there after this weekend. I have never been treated so nasty by anyone while shopping. * Pros: great fabrics, jewelry * Cons: over priced, rude customer service
