I'm here in Southern CA. The Riverside/San Bernardino area of the Inland Empire. Between Los Angeles and Palm Springs.
People here are still using water like it's free and plentiful. They don't care and will keep flooding their lawns and refilling their pools until the water stops. And then they'll wonder what happened! Most people here are on prescription anti depressants, and other drugs, and are completely clueless! It's infuriating!
I stopped watering my lawns last summer and drained my pool. I've cut my water usage by more than 65% a month. All the while tons of people around me are flooding the streets with water runoff!
They are also still building new upper/middle income housing tracts, hospital and care facilities, and developing unused land for more minimum wage fast food, and retail shops. They still use water trucks to keep dust down in construction areas, etc. Looks like they'll just keep using it until nothing but dust comes out.
