For a couple of days, my living room was transformed into a photo-slash-art studio. Camera, tripod, strobes, umbrellas, sketch pads, charcoal, acrylic paints, art inspiring books - everywhere. I need to do that more often... it was great :)

Hey guys... please take a moment to watch this very moving video and donate to the cause. David completely lost his sight a couple years ago in a bicycling accident leaving him only to see light and color in his dreams. It's so easy to take things for granted, but I just can't imagine waking up every morning to a world that was pitch black. The proceeds will go toward a scanner that will convert printed material to audio.

Blessings. And thanks in advance for any shares of this post.

We take photographs. We live for light. We breath vision. It's what keeps us going. We are photographers.

But David is blind. Totally blind. He sees colour only in his dreams. He says he feels like a ghost - nobody notices him - but he only knows he's for real when he walks into something and feels the pain.

Please watch this video by UK documentary photographer +J A Mortram who's been documenting David's life for a while along with the lives of many other folk in his home town. It's a project called Small Town Inertia. It's important.

I've never asked before but if you're one of the Google+ big wigs with thousands of followers then please would you consider sharing this? We want to raise - no, we WILL raise - $3200 dollars so that David can have a scanner and then be able to read again.

If you feel moved then please contribute - a dollar will do (10 would be even better!!) - at hopemob.org. The page is at http://hopemob.org/s/1j0-postcards-from-the-black-audio-scanner-for-david.

Forgive me for being so direct and for +1'ing folk. But you have big followings and so you resharing this will have a way better impact than anything I can do. Thank you so much for any help you can offer.

Thank you.

What's up, guys? Apparently, all I need to do is travel out of town for work and edit late at night from a hotel room in order post some shots from my now not-so-recent trip to Monument Valley, UT :)  Can't wait to be back... I miss home.

Hope life is good for all of you in and out of the g+ world!

You know what it means when we do opposites... Yup, we're closing yet another month of the year! My shot is one from my recent trip to Monument Valley, UT - it was amazing to see so many variations of clouds all at the same time in the same sky! And I just love the springy, fun feel of Shannon's take on "ground".

Have a wonderful holiday weekend, all you fabulous g+ people! Make it a good one!

In looking back through this album, I realized I missed an upload. Oops! So here is week 9: blue and week 14: minimal.

I'm know I'm really behind on visiting your streams -- which I will promptly take care of after work today. I'm also working on some shots from my recent vacation :) Cheers, happy peeps! Have a great weekend!

I am officially on vacation! Woot!

Welcome to the new people that recently circled me... thanks for following! Once a week I participate in a collaboration project with Shannon from http://shannonblue.com where we each take a photo based on the same theme. This last week's theme was HOME.

The photos framed above my sofa were taken by a few of my favorite photographers. A special shout out to (from left to right): +Joel Tjintjelaar +kevin kwok and +Owen Schaefer

Now it's time to pack! Cheers!
