I've been a professional outdoor sports photographer since 1990 when I started Mountain Sport Photography at www.mountainsportphoto.com. Before that I spent a year working in Patagonia on expeditions, 5 years as a national news photographer in the UK and before that I learned all the nuts and bolts of the business in a little high street studio as an assistant..ahh, I remember it well! Now I shoot for all kinds of clients, outdoor trade, commercial ads, PR, tourism, stock and editorial features for magazines. And when I've finished doing that I go to college and run two evening courses in photography and then teach workshops at the weekend. Sometimes I even spend time with my family!
Bragging rights
I may be the only person to have completed a 12hr traverse of the Cuillen Ridge in wellies and the first to solo all 15 Classic Rock Climbs routes in the Lakes in under 24 hours.

Gale force winds hammering at the window, snow and rain...what better time to sit and update my website...hope you like it! So, Mountain Sport Photo is still at www.mountainsportphoto.com, just has a new look. Thanks to my pal Paddy Cave at www.mountaincircles.com for being a great "model" - visit his site and see what's going on in the outdoor world.

In which I get the chance to play with some toys for the weekend (Leica's not Ferrari's)...
Time, like Ferrari's, flies. Hard to believe that I haven't posted a blog since July 2013. I guess that means either I've had nothing interesting to say/do or been too busy/lazy to post. I leave that one to your imagination. ...

http://www.asportinglife.com/ asked me to contribute a new article for the website, so I chose to talk about my workflow which I call "the framework". Check it out and take time to read some of the other excellent sports photography articles by pros from everywhere.
