Sounds like a fantastic educational opportunity. I would be particularly interested to know when the Federal Hate Crimes law actually applies. Seems we've had lots of trouble getting the Feds involved in prior cases - like that of Troy Clattenberg Martinez (San Antonio) - even when local officials refused to review hate crime charges initially --- or at least until pressed into a corner by community members and Troy's admirable family.

Memories - spent a few minutes going through some of my photos from NEM. So many wonderful memories. Love the shots for +David Mixner, +Lady Gaga+Mark Reed, Jude Stevens, Robin McGehee and so many others who inspire me...
Last year, my husband and I exchanged vows during this event. It saddens me that the minister who performed the ceremony is so intolerant. I would have loved an affirming celebration - but there is obviously a lot more work today to get us equal!
Almost all prepared for all of the Transgender Day of Remembrance events in San Antonio this week and weekend. Now... let's hope the weather forecast remains unchanged for Sunday night so I'm not spending the night on the streets in subzero temperatures or rain... I'll still do it, but I won't be happy about it. Join me!
