Hi all,

I just wrote up some lessons learned from using RxJava to develop the Khan Academy Android application. For each lesson, I've tried to provide relevant example code from the app. Please check it out at https://github.com/mgp/effective-rxjava and let me know what you think!

I know I've been really silent on here recently, but I've been really hard at work for the past few months on the Android app for Khan Academy! We launched it yesterday, and now I just wanted to share it with y'all:

If you have an Android device, please feel free to try it out and give me feedback!

Hope you are all doing sooooooo wellllllll <3

Not only is the Github app for Android slick, it's also open source. Extra-slick:

Anyone out there using Google Analytics for Android? If so, thoughts? I don't need much functionality... just something cheap.

This is interesting, and something I want to see more of. Needs some improvement (for example, "Get rid of them and pick verbs with force instead" could be "Replace them with forceful verbs instead"), but once that's done, this would be super-useful for technical writing.

To whoever named the Adapter class in Android... Was DataSource taken?

Anyone have opinions to share on Eclipse vs Android Studio? I was pretty happy with the former when working on Burner, and was curious if I should delve into the latter for my next project...

"My mom showed up in my inbox with a donation. She voted Broncos, and I hoped dearly that the random number generator wouldn't select her. It did. She is now the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos. And now I must throw her to the wolves."

This is pretty damn amusing.

Dear Lazyweb,

I have like 1,000 unread emails in my inbox going back 50 pages. How do I mark them all as read without going page-by-page, selecting unread, and then marking them as read?

I swear there was an option that was like "select unread across all pages" but I don't see that anymore...
